Guess who's stupid and left an 85th anniversary Gucci Jackie O behind today because their phone wasn't working and I couldn't authenticate it.

:( :( :( :( :(

Rest to come later, though.

You ever seen any of the Gucci "super fakes"? So hard to tell from the real deal. Might have saved yourself some money and a headache

When I say stupid...I mean it was $20 and I should've just taken the chance.

fwiw i think the ass-ache is more important than the money. i'll happily roll the dice at my price but it's more about that pitfall of authenticity if you decide to sell down the road.

p.s. - when i write #noballs i'm referring to my own reticence vis a vis listing certain brands

I try and not use my phone in store as much as possible. I like to think that going with your gut will make you a better thrifter. And when I was your age, we didnt have phones to look up things! #getoffmylawn

Plus the more time your nose is buried in your device, the less your eyes are open to opportunities. Im like a neurotic mouse in store - looking every direction to see what catches my eye. (Anyone I've been in a store with can attest, I really don't have ADD and I was listening to you haha)

I hardly ever use my phone but there's things I have never found and can't authenticate myself. Purses being one of those. Oh well, there's always next time.

I left the store - got 10 minutes away - researched it and it was gone by the time I was able to turn around and go back. I totally tried haha. I will convince myself that it was fake so I feel better about it.

I ran into rhyme this weekend at a thrift and felt pretty ADD. I think I (kinda) managed to have a conversation while trying to get through racks quickly and pop around the store, but in actuality I was probably shouting nonsense and throwing fake Hermes scarfs at passerbys.

Did we ever settle on a way of identifying ourselves if we run into another member in the wild?
