Interesting, I had no idea AE has done anything for RL that recently. Still, is there convincing evidence to suggest they are AE (or Rancourt)? Product number or last? Genuinely curious as to what they might be. Here's another posting with some that are very similar.

I thought the sticker with the model name of the shoe in question with "Allen Edmonds" printed on the sticker was convincing enough.

To be fair, there is a lot of intertwining between Rancourt and Allen Edmonds. AE owned Rancourt for about 10-12 years (until 2010~) and the Rancourt family bought the Maine plant back when AE was going to close it. Rancourt does make for Ralph Lauren and the soles are extremely similar. I would agree, that model is AE, but it can be very difficult to differentiate.

sure but a pretty big difference between either of those and Alden.

Yes, AE, but consensus seems to be a little better quality. At that price point ($119), and because they fit, I'll head back tonight and pick them up. Line was loooooooooong.

Zegnas are fake. Don't know much about LV.

I didn't see the name of the shoe was originally posted as well, no need to be patronizing. I was speaking in terms of deciphering the maker simply by looking at the given shoe with no prior knowledge of the name/model. Good detective work though.

RL by Rancourt may also have 'Made in Maine' stamped on the footbed. I picked up a recent pair of loafers, same heel nail pattern as the AEs in the picture.

@Reosymes
First, thanks. Second, what indicated that they were fake so I can recognize it in the future?
