Those are actually older Alfred Sargent - very similar to older C&J before they both switched to handwritten script.

When you are a younger gent and dress "dapper" at work and an older lady compliments you as such then says, "all you need is a tie and it'd be stunning, a Jerry Garcia tie."

I thrifted a pair of these a few years back. I've still got them and they're still my favorite boot find.

That is all I have on those.

100% Shell, per the post above it about people not taking care of their shell.

Put This On just posted about a This American Life episode that aired yesterday on LL Bean’s guarantee.

The guarantee was not built for modern times. It came from one Maine shopkeeper, Leon Leonwood Bean, who sold mail order hunting boots with a promise, if you weren’t satisfied, you could return them.

A century later, people are buying used LL Bean products in bulk on eBay and returning them for full price. Others scoop up piles of old parkas and shirts at thrift shops, stuff them into garbage bags, and bring them back for store credit. I talked to one guy who found an LL Bean jacket at Goodwill for $10 and returned it, triumphantly, for $360 in store credit.

Where there is generosity, there will be abuse.  All you can do is be the better person.  Was it REI that just killed that policy because of abuse?

Yes! Thanks for all great comments about my blog - vcleat.com

I am happy to give opinions on the condition and pricing of vintage made in USA  shoes.

Those Florsheim long wings look like they are are in good shape from the photos. Might be from the 60s.

Sir, I will be PM'ing you a few photos here today, including the ones I posted earlier if that's okay with you.
