The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2718

If you wear suits why not? Coppley makes nice stuff and sounds like the material is pretty decent. Retail would have been over $1000. It's dual vented I think I can see in one of the photos, and the gorge is fine if you ask me so it doesn't look dated.  If it's for a wedding type stiuation I probably wouldn't bother with the pinstripe. How do the shoulders fit? Hard to tell from the picture but might be a little big

I was worried shoulders were small if anything because I don't understand the numbers on this particular tag.

I'm thinking it fits though...with alterations.

A hint of scent from suit makes me think prior owner liked currie. Barely there but it's there. Seems fine besides that.

I say go with it then. How can you beat off the rack at a thrift store lol. I don't even see the need for many alterations. Hard to tell with the photo angle but maybe a little sleeve shortening although I guess that comes down to preference and I would probably hem the pants although probably again preference and you'd need to be wearing dress shoes to really tell but I think it will be too much break. The waist on the coat to me looks fine. Get it dry cleaned if it smells and you're off to the races :) Nice find

@dad2bandm

That suit looks like it fits pretty well on your shoulders. Hard to tell sleeves without a dress shirt, but honestly that's a keeper if you ever need to wear it!

Is this 100% an orphan? I'm having a hard time picturing what I'd wear with it as an odd jacket. The purple stitching for the button holes certainly makes this a lot more casual. Can glen plaid be a sport coat?

Paid up for this. NWT Hermes.

Trashed Hermes. Only cost me a buck. If for some reason anyone wants this let me know. Otherwise, I'm going to do a little research and cut this thing open to examine the guts.

Holland & Sherry. Usually leave these, but I liked the print.

All sweaters are NA. Scotch House is for my brother and the Gran Sasso 70% wool, 30% cashmere are for me.

Finally, Saint Laurent Paris flats. First time picking up this brand. I think they're genuine but if anyone wants to give me an authenticity check I'd appreciate it.

I would rock that as a sport coat, but I am definately not the authority.

Peak Lapels + Purple Stiching makes me think its a bit fashion forward, and most likely a sport coat. What brand?

I could see it rocked with some dark denim.

Sand Copenhagen so definitely fashion forward. With discount only about $10 so not much of an investment. There's a subtle pink highlight in the glen plaid that didn't come out in the picture. I'm not sure if that makes it worse or better lol Maybe I'll keep it and see what I can do.

To the above, wow I've never seen NWT Hermes tie. Sweet find

It's either my second or third one. I probably paid more than most people would, but I'll at least double my money.

Too tight for me, sometimes I'm 32", sometimes 33" waist.

For what I paid, I'll make profit... don't you worry about that ;)
