Lining and canvassing are not mutually exclusive things. You may notice that many Oxxfords are quarter line exposing a greater portion of the skeleton of the suit aka the handwork, these are all fully canvassed. Canvassing is the placing of horsehair usually, between two pieces of fabric and setting and molding it by hand, hence the finger dimple when you lift a lapel. Lining does not necessary hold Canvassing in place. It can be used to house it, however it isn't necessary to do so.

Oh I know, I have one of the suits, someone consigned it, dunno if I'm gonna list or not, half canvassed kinda just means half fused to me. But it's beyond that, it's the lack of quality control that goes into the making of diffusion lines, these lines are purely for profit, so they cut costs everywhere so they can offer dope shit through there premium line. I just don't really like to fuck with diffusions because that's all they really are.

I've never seen that one before, but then again I'm not that huge of a Polo guru.

As long as it's legit it would definitely be worth picking up.

On a scale of Crap, Good, Better, Best, I would rate that as Better. Late 60's-early 70's stuff aimed for the civilian market but likely purchased by a solider (by his family at home in the states) for combat. Looks like the John Wayne Dense pattern to me. Great find!
