That Cifonelli is niiice.

I've no superstitions on thrifting - I just figure it's a combination of luck and hard work.

Here is a snap of mine.

Paid $50 for it. (Okay, so i tweaked it a bit after)

Edit: How many Kitons for the Quadangle?

@SpooPoker I'd be interested to hear if you have a superstition related to which car you drive while thrifting..

I don't really have one, actually. Most of my superstitions are in-store. But every time Ive taken the Ferrari, Ive filled up the trunk, so theres that (though full disclosure, thats not very hard in that car, thats like one hefty bag lol)

In US Porsche parlance at least they call it the frunk.

I've never thrifted in the 911. Perhaps I should try it for good luck.

^^^This! How many of us have hit the jackpot, only to realize that you don't have a cart? If you take the time to get a cart, someone else can find the mega-haul that you just discovered. I ALWAYS have a cart, just in case. Besides, failing to secure a cart in the beginning is showing the thrift gods that you are pessimistic. Grabbing a cart is good for self-confidence. Maybe it is more difficult in New England thrifts. Down here, the vast majority of thrifters are morbidly obese. The aisles are designed to allow two carts to pass without the need for any bi-lingual apologies.

Any thread members in Salt Lake City?

The decision would be made for you in the UK - in the 100+ charity shops I have been in, not a single one has had a cart. A couple have had baskets, but that's as far as it goes. And they are usually really tight for space. So you are just going to have to squeeze past that fat woman who smells of piss and BO, while carrying 4 suits and a pair of shoes.

What's the old saying? Something along the lines of, "If you want to be a big shot, you must act like a big shot?" I always grab a cart on the way in...
