However, Tweedydon did some research and connected a link over on AAAC that in reality this is not a HT. The shield indicates a time when the HT producers started to have some competition in the late 50's when demand in the US was very strong. The coats with this emblem were made by the competition who did not follow official HT rules. After a court case, these companies could no longer produce HT.
Very interesting piece of history on this jacket and I encourage you to find Tweedydons link on the thrift store brags on the trad forum over at AAAC if you want to read up on this.

yeah but they don't have bacon ipsum

They're asking $250. Saw similar style sold for $499 on the bay.

Am I a fool for leaving it behind? At this particular store that is a price that should keep it there for today.

Looks like a good pass to me. Looks trashed and repainted/spraybombed. Handle-bars are upside-down. Wouldn't buy even at $30. Did it have a model name on the chainguard or did they paint over that?

Only if they have a good return policy... Otherwise, you are stuck with her even if she is defective. See @capnwes for tips on hoeing.

Just at the start tho. If I start working up a true haul, it's not bad luck to grab a cart and chuck things in once the momentum's started.

Exactly this.

Everything seemed painted except for the front badge. There was another one of similar vintage but a women's, that had a babyseat attached behind the main seat. I think that one was probably the better of the two, wish I'd snapped a couple pics of it instead. It appeared to have original red paint, too. The badge said La Salle on it, which I think was a Schwinn model name back in the day.

Swung by the same store on my way home from work and both were still there, as expected. Will be doing a little more research on the red one, as it intrigued me. Didn't leave empty-handed in the bike department though, grabbed these as they're an easy local flip.
Cannondale SM500 circa 1985-87, I think. Weird Specialized stem/handlebar combo and more pics in spoiler.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

And this Haro 100.1 bmx bike for the kid in me. Paid less for it than I would've a venti Caramel Frap at Starsucks. Needs a new chain and grips, but overall ok condition. Need to cut off a bike lock, though. Based on the sheer amount of bikes I saw at thrifts today I'm thinking a local law enforcement agency must've cleared out their bike impounds or something.

Love me some Haro!!! I had a Haro FST before I moved up in the world to a Sport. That and GT were my favorite BMX bikes for freestyle. I also still have my old SE Quadangle at my parents' house. For racing, I was a huge (pre-mass marketed) Mongoose fan.

A couple Firday morning impulse buys showed up. Thrift? no Discount? Yes. Perfect? If not, damn close. Was gonna keep, then flip one for one, but Im probably just gonna let the other site have at both, FU, not my style, and the Cifonelli is perfect but heavy as fuck. N/A

I'm processing a huge hand-off from @SpecialK2k12, so I need to stay home and list instead of thrifting more.

BUT

I did make a quick run to pick up two things. I love this weirdly patterned/woven BB un-tipped tie:

And I dropped a stupid amount of money on these, but I think they'll do well.

All N/A.

Fuckin a, that Cifonelli @Jompso

Gimme.

It has never worked. frown.gif

A buddy of mine and I went thrifting one time. As he grabbed the handle of the door, he said "shell cordovan boots!". We walk in. He hits the shoe section. Pulls a pair of C&J for Polo RL cigar shell loafers. Only nice pair of shoes I've ever seen there. That tactic must work!
