Isn't it fun to do mundane semi-retirement things like wake up and e-thrift while still wearing your Versace underoos?

No name on it, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Dallas of course.

Thanks for all the kind words and enthusiastic reply's dudes! Half the fun of posting is seeing the reaction you all have. I was actually having a little chuckle to myself yesterday as I was making that post, that, just a little less than 5 years ago, right when my wife and I moved to Chicago, I popped into the Salvation Army near my old house and was amazed by all the polo and Tommy Hilfiger crowing the racks. Hahaha. Man, what a difference 5 years makes.

I also got a message from SWB saying I need to post more often, otherwise people are going to start booking flights to come here, hahaha. So yea, I want to reiterate that this was weeks and weeks of me hitting the thrifts everyday, not a single haul. I probably logged a couple hundred miles on the ol' Cannondale. biggrin.gif

Anyways, cheers guys, ya'll are the best, and this thread is still my favorite place on the internet.

This is tempting the hell out of me: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/atq/5574197829.html

Reupholstering yourself wouldn't cost $800, right?

That was an awesome pile of threads, @eazye! Pic of the Cannondale? That's what I had when I lived there - Cannondale Hybrid...forget which model.

I am a little weirded out by the "burnt" and "came from pet home" aspects of the listing. Are these things that rare?

Nah man, we are looking to get ours done too and got quoted at least $1000 if not more.

You guys should be hunting for vintage. From talking to dealers and collectors I know, both coasts were picked clean of most vintage 15 years ago, and the Midwest is getting thin, too, but there's still a lot left in places like Montana. Probably Utah and Wyoming, too.

I think the pattern matching is as good as any other of this design I've seen, I was set to disagree with all y'all, then I did my own research, which would have saved me the embarrassment of posting a fake.  The killer and the (now) obvious tell, is the logo.  How could you get everything else so right and just eff that up??  The stitching is so clean, the leather is great, even the printed logo has those lines running through it that it's supposed to have.  Oh, and the one bad stitch on the whole fucking thing is in this pic too, between the "made in".

Hauls like that are what make me run out and hit the stores, I'm sure most of the other people here too. GW was probably wondering why the huge spike in sales yesterday.

Def my favorite place on the internet, great job!

Gotta have one. I'm know you're familiar with how shitty Chicago streets can be.

What kind of vintage stuff are you talking about?
