You know what's funny, and is a cycle in the sneaker 'world'...shoes that sit on shelves now, will be sought after and needed in 10+ years. These were general releases back in the day, but now, to see them like this years and years later strikes the nostalgia in most people. Think back to the Jordan 1, those went to outlets. I happened to come up on a pair from 1985 and 1994 and sold them together for $3k. Again, these were at outlets for like $40 back in the day. Below are the 1994 model, I can dig for the photos of the 1985s if you all want!

It's really the same thing with anything...

I got excited when I found an REI fleece jacket yesterday from the timeframe in which I worked at REI ('95 through early '97). Worth much? Probably not, but I thought it was cool...

And it's also the same reason I listen to the 80s on 8 on XM. When they play songs from 1989, I get taken right back to my freshman year of high school.

True. I was seriously tempted by some original MOTU figures at Savers a few days ago.

Hi, I am Jonathan and I like footwear.
I am about to bless this thread with some footwear I have truly thrifted or bought off stEalBAY. As clothing is a specialty of most of you all, footwear is mine. I have too many brag-worthy photos/prices not to share. I will post a few pairs each day. Enjoy!

Pair of New Balance 574 I snagged for $11 back in 2008/9 at Plato's Closet. Normally I do not buy New Balance that are not made in the USA, but these were a must. The shape is too on point.

These were found chillin' on a local GW rack marked at $12, which is already a steal, but, they were marked $12 on a purple tag, which, on that day, purple tags were $1. So I got these near DS Nike Air Zoom Flight 'The Glove' from 1997, for $1. Needless to say that was more than a steal, borderline illegal. These did well online

Thought I'd bring a little something different to the thread, like the motorcycle. I know for sure people here are into sneakers...@PLaydice ?? Who else?? More to come!

Oh...are you a 9.5?

These are as new as they come from the late 80s, early 90s. Original quality control paper still there. Best part, I went to my local GW, these were in the 'showcase'. I saw them and grabbed them, no matter the price. Lady was like, did you need to try these on? I said, nope, I'll take em. She was so confused. You don't see boxes this complete

(Who donates these?????)

...I wish these fit me.

I grew up in the Philadelphia area and with this guy's cousin, and my cousin worked at planet reebok so I had like 200 pairs of sneakers growing up. Here is my humble contribution:

Does anyone have a good method of getting wrinkles out of ties? Grabbed a couple today that need to be de-wrinkled.

Thanks

I've had the most luck using a regular iron. Place a towel over the tie, and iron over that with moderate pressure.
