Ah, thanks! Just looked and confirmed. That would also make sense with me being in Minnesota. :slayer:

So I usually won't buy women's stuff. Too much of a headache and can't figure it out for nothin'. I decided to gamble on this though, just had a feeling a cashmere suit had to be something. Looks like my gamble paid off. Retail was probably as much or more than a Kiton cashmere suit.

@Fueco

that's some nice shooting. funny how many old minor league/negro league/a-league-of-their-own clubs there were...

in other news... just thrifted myself a very nice Acne nylon car coat just in time for the arrival of The Boy. nice design, decent build, overpriced at retail (but cheap for me!)

It really depends, as far as dress shoes are concerned I was under the impression they were pretty much solely English so the maker would depend on the nail pattern of the heels unless someone here is privy to a certain firm they have been known to contract Italian made models to.

If C&J they'd be marked with a UK size and then maybe US as well, really depends where they were made...it looks English so I'm gonna go ahead and guess it'll be stamped English but hey I've been wrong before so anyones guess...or knowledge..

One way to tell if C&J shoes are UK or US sized is that no matter which market C&J make for, they stamp the UK size on the footbed, close to the toe. The convention is size/width, with the width being represented by the old english method of numbering, with 5 being medium width. See picture below (made for the US market and marked 12D on the side) indicating that these are UK 12 D, i.e narrow (E being a medium for C&J and many other english makers).

No size stamp that I can see on the sole. They measure heel to toe 11.5" & 3 5/8" at the widest point. Is there a way to figure it out from that?

The nails in the heel all appear to be brass if that helps with a maker

Have those heels been redone or are those original?

Hard to say. Around here, when heels are replaced, they use either all rubber or all leather. Most places here won't re-heel in dovetail or like these.
