Maybe not the correct venue, but I know someone here will know...are flax and linen interchangeable on a garment material tag? I know linen is made from flax but if a tag specifically says "flax", is it different than linen?

PM if you want to chat about the thrifting here. It's interesting to shop in so many major cities for comparison.

Lol only if I did... and ok have a ball. I thrift 2 days a week, 3 tops, and half routes at that too, rarely a full route, you do this shit everyday man, you should be pulling in more shit than me i this city purely based on the amount you do what you do, and good, I'm glad you're doing well here, it's a fun place to thrift, enjoy the rest of your stay.. But this shit is kinda dumb. Veiled threats sent via message board and stuff? Telling me about how your gonna school me on the city I've lived 29 years in? C'mon man, this shit's ridiculous. You do whatever you wanna do and whatever makes you happy. Good luck with the rest of your stay here. You want to write a synopsis? Hell I'd read the thing if you actually spent the time to do it, sheerly outta respect for actually dedicating your time to it.

But truthfully man I don't know what upset you or offended you so much or whatever but were adults man, this is child shit. If you wanted to honestly have a conversation about differences in cities, I'd entertain that, cuz I'd like to compare with your with the places I've been and how I've done cuz I know you get all over, but I know that wasn't an honest offer nor well intended so we'll just settle with veiled threats and leave it at that. I got no problem with you. Best of luck. You do what you gotta do, have fun, I'll do me, that'll be that.

Flax and Linen are interchangable strictly when referencing the properties of the fabric itself. Flax is sourced from the root of the plant, linen from the plant itself, however they are nearly identical in all ways. However Flax I believe is not only harder to source and mill in large quantites but it also is a far less marketbale name then linen is. But to directly answer you, for all reasons you would would be concernend with, they are essentially the same exact fabric, Flax has bit more irregularities and texture, however properties possessed are nearly identical.

Fair critique. But she's managed to take what we do to orders of magnitude of higher levels, and makes a crap ton of money doing it. Sure, she could do it better, but I for one respect the hell out of the fact that she's managed to outdo me by country miles.

Curious: How would you do it differently. I'll say for sure her system is WAAAAAY better than mine.

Can I say, AGAIN, how FUCKING ANNOYING it is that the scripts on StyFo keep crashing Firefox. This should have been a 2 minute scroll and post and it took me nearly 35 minutes.

Keep this up, mods, and I just won't visit anymore. Kinda defeats the purpose of the ads that keep crashing the Fucking site.

It's not just Firefox, this site crashes on chrome roughly every 10 minutes or so and scrolling is an absolute joke, you literally have no control over the fucking page, only this site too, something needs to be done for sure

2 Cents...Well, maybe 4 Cents, on why there are zero reasons Linda deserves any of this respect or admiration. (Click to show)

I dunno man. I mean yes, she  sorta kinda built this huge consignment empire pretty much by sheer luck, but starting a business and gaining success is certainly respectable, however what is truly respectable, are those who have gained the success and know how to innovate, grow, expand, better, etc.. their business that is already a success. She's a women who started selling shit on ebay, then her friends shit and all of a sudden shes consigning all this womens clothing (Womens clothing and accessories are what float that fucking thing, period). Her inability to identify flaws, improve on weaknesses, ability to grow her business in general, is flat out fucking awful, and to me, she's just someone who got lucky and can sell womens clothing fairly well. She won the powerball and is just letting that shit gain low interest returns but not putting the winnings to work. Her business acumen is shit, it's quite obvious that her ability to surround herself with good business minds is equally fucking shitty. The way she runs what has turned out to be a very significant part of her business now, is an absolute fucking disaster, and she has made absolutely zero attempts to improve upon it. The mens inventory grows and grows and is only sold when she has those 35% off sales primarely to flippers who luck out on a steal, because oh yea, she also has managed to not employee a single individual to run the mens divison that knows a single fucking thing about menswear or resale value, or dating clothing or anything, hell she can't even figure out that her fucking lighting system is too dark so no patterns or colors show up on the clothes in her photos.

Years ago people chalked up these short comings as merely her weighing costs and benefits and realizing that it would cost more than it would be worth to invest on improving the mens division, this excuse is no longer valid nor viable. Linda is a 1 trick pony that doesn't adapt, can't grow, cant identify problems, find solutions, higher the right people, or even fucking measure her clothes properly. I have zero respect for her as a business woman and honestly don't see how others can. She didn't fucking builda n empire from nothing by herrself, she got fucking lucky, its obvious cuz nobody that shitty at businesss is as succesful as her for any other fuckign reason. If she was smart, she'd sell controlling share's, maintain 49% ownership, reap nearly half annual net profits while sitting on her dumbass and letting people who know what to do run her business and probably double her Gross in a 3 year span, but no, no that women would never think of something like that cuz she's fucking clueless,or totally delusional, actually probably both.

And just as a last note, I actually did a little experiment on my own a few weeks back with a piece of her inventory to truly see how horrific her turnover rate was with menswear. I bought a Cucinelli blazer she had in stock for roughly 4-6 months for $200 solely to see how quickly I would be able to sell it and for how much more. It took me 5 days, and I think it sold it for about 450, it was also fucking hideous too,.I think that says enough.

I didn't realize but I saw you posed the question to someone as to how they would do it differently....lemme know when you have about a half a day free, I got an idea or two..

Anyone know when Alden/Brooks Bros. stopped using this heel on the 763 loafer? I believe that everything is dovetailed now.
