The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2336

Found a couple of thrift firsts for me.
Oxxford. A bit thrashed on the inside but nothing a tailor couldn't fix up.

Canali... Any ideas on estimated date of manufacture based off label?

And I love this crazy Petrocelli fabric suit by Maurice Anderson. Was a pretty decent clothier in SLC back in the day.

I've seen this posted more than once, Eton are my favourite shirts, so I've thrifted a few and I've never seen one with broken buttons. You must have some brutal washing machines in the US.

"Bondage Pants" will be the name of my next band.

Guys - if C&J make shoes for an American brand (Bb or RL), are their sizes (printed on inside) UK or Us?
Thanks smile.gif

If you are a size 38 you might like to take a look at this "Ralph Lauren" suit Linda has to offer. It's actually a RLBL suit.

She should be embarrassed by the shitty job she does. 'V neck Long Sleeves' as keywords for a suit?

She got a glowing profile on ABC, though.

40" waist on a size 38 suit? Edit: that appears to be tagged 40?

Stuff I still need to cross off my bucket list.

Man, I've found tailored Poole, Kiton, Caraceni, Rubinacci and others, probably 20 pairs of shell, I'm in the "thrifted solid gold" club, Momo, Strike Gold, and Iron Heart on the sw&d side, but there is one brand that has been haunting me for years, and it's Filson. I have never once seen Filson in my entire life. It's the weirdest curse.

I guess others would include everything on your list, anything other than silk Hermes, Lobbs, a full Row suit, and vicuna.

So... update on the Rolex...

Took it to an AD (per @SpooPoker's recommendation), whose watchmaker and staff were extraordinarily nice. Honestly was blown away by the service, and will be going back whenever I'm ready for a new-to-me watch.

He looked over the entire watch, and all the external parts are legitimate, 100% real Rolex parts including the bracelet, case, dial, hands, crown, etc. Then he opened the case back, and found a replaced, 25 jewel Swiss, non-Rolex movement. We both figured either some other watchmaker swindled the original owner out of the movement, and replaced it with said 25 jewel (which the maker also said was quite a good quality movement), or getting the original fixed was too costly for the then-owner who opted for said Swiss movement instead. Pictures posted below as they're on my phone...
