The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2294

At a JCrew Warehouse sale. Fuck this bullshit pricing.

My purchases if the pricing was anything close to reasonable:
Alden Indy boots
Alfred Sargent boots
Alfred Sargent shoes x 5
Quoddy x 2
Bass chukkas for me
Red Wing x 2
Stubbs & Wooten
Sanders

What really pisses me off is that they're selling seconds for more than I've seen first quality pairs go on the JCrew website.

Indy boots are well worn floor samples. Not in bad shape, but the worst condition out of all the ones I listed. The rest are in pretty decent shape.

That's the only thing I can think of as well, but why do they care, when it's no longer their stuff anymore?  Crazy.

+1, I don't think I have any currently, but I did before I purged the stuff that was too big now. I like their plaids especially.

Just a few ties I picked up yesterday. I think we can assume these were the same donor.

Etro, Prada, Penrose

Just a theory, but probably because most people don't understand the point of places like Goodwill. The main point is not to provide a source for cheap clothing like they think it is (you can get new clothes at Walmart for every bit as cheap as GW). The point of goodwill is to make money for their programs and to employ people who may not be able to get a job elsewhere. People don't realize flippers who spend $10k a year at goodwillls are more beneficial than a harm.

They had 30% off at their website just a few days back. Prolly an error but people were able to use it on Alden indy and shell.

I find pricing at outlets and warehouses usually to be wack for used/ items no one wants

My two purchases from the JCrew warehouse sale. A cashmere scarf and a wool square. Spent a total of $9. Girlfriend spent $220.
