Found three of these John W Nordstrom ties last week. What are these technically called? Fourfold? Is it just a multi-fold?

You'd think I'd find this stuff all the time in this area, but this is only the third or fourth time I've found something from this era. Minty fresh, possibly unworn, just in time for summer.

Can I get a quick authenticity check?  Stitching looks good but I'm only familiar with my wife's.  Leaning fake as there is no serial number inside.  Also, there is plastic underneath the leather piping, but I'm not sure if that's standard as my wife's has no wear.  Feels way more substantial than other fakes I've seen though.

I'd say real. The only weird thing for me is the off center hardware.

Real one: https://www.yoogiscloset.com/louis-vuitton-monogram-canvas-manhattan-gm-bag-45488.html?gclid=COv0hceJ5csCFQeRfgod8wcP8Q

Look very closely for the serial number.

Dude! Thanks.  I was looking for the model forever and it looks like it matches up.  Your google fu / search strength is impressive.  I see a faint marking of where the stamp might have been, but the lining is kind of worn.  Also, what do you mean by off center hardware?  It could be the wonky camera on my 5S.

The second photo that is not hidden the leather doesn't look like it lines up and the rivets don't look like they line up perfectly.

I think that might just be the angle that the pic is taken from.

Hope so!

I would say Fake as far as i can tell. That's a poor example of pattern alignment. Which is by far there most important detail. It's all over the place. Everything will be a mirror image of itself. The zipper pull is not right. That Era did use that style of zipper pull but there was a ring all the way around it and it was really thick.
Also the backside or interior side of the rivets is also a very easy way to tell. It's often overlooked by counterfeiters as there very distinct.

look at the big rivet at the handle attachment. the YC version has a clover/quatrefoil/whatever between the words and the letters are pretty distinctive... does yours have that mark? it's hard to see from here...

I found the stamp inside the pocket and it's AR0080, so mfg 2000.  This has the alcantara lining so I can't see the back of the rivets.  I also looked at the big rivets and I don't see any king of stamp.  Do you have a pic?  I would love to give it to my wife so I am going to take into the store and see about repairs, and hopefully they should tell me if it is authentic.

Thanks everybody for the info.  This thread is the shit!

@PGRoadhouse I thoroughly enjoy the attention to detail in your posts. It's really helpful to someone to someone like myself just starting out, so thanks for all the extra deets, bruh!

@shirtsnmor

i mean from Moo's link. look at the 8th pic - the first one on the bottom row... they show a pretty good view of the larger rivet and there's a quatrefoil mark between the words and the letters are pretty distinctive as well. i can't see it on yours but that could just be the photo, i dunno. fingers crossed tho.

also fwiw, i bought wifey a speedy and the piping wore out. i do remember it being plastic underneath but it was repaired awhile ago.

Sup guys, haven't posted in a while, was sick for some time so there was no real thrifting happening and then pure inventory backlog had me resisting the urge. However I have horrible self control so here's some thrift finds.

Weak tie game

So ugly they get their own picture with nothing else

RLPL x3

Helmut Lang Italy, Brioni, S/S navy Etro shirt

Choices made when thrifting sick (Click to show)

The details like the handrolled edges and the familiar black tag even had me thinking it was a possiblity. First of all the chances of a real Chanel chain scarf being in a thrift store are next to impossible so that's the first sign, the real one has machine stitched edges and the black tag is totally different. Fuck it, $10.....and also I DO NOT WANT THIS, so first one who PMs me that wants it, it's yours...toss me a tie or something but I'm not profiting off this... and not promoting this but people buy the fuck out of the fake ones too I just don't want to have it.

PRL Black Gator Opera Pumps or whatever they're called. I don't think they were ever worn outside, and in total, no more than once. Shoe bag was even stuffed in one of them.

AND THEN THIS HAPPENED...

In case you weren't keeping count, 13 MINT Belvest Suits, including 4 Super 150s and 2 Super 180s

And these final two beauties were e-thrifted while I was sick. I need a charcoal Gray solid suit and these both do the trick, but I'll probably flip... (Click to show)

First there's this fucking work of art. I was able to e-thrift this at 15% of sold listings on eBay. It's my size, a little long though, and with that margin it'll probably get flipped. Being able to hold it and look over it and shit is so awesome though.

This second one was e-thrifted at 30% ebay sold listings results. Charcoal single breasted peak label and just my size. It's gonna be hard to part with this fucking beauty too.

Fin.
