The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2195

Been a long time since I've stopped by, to my shame. Finally found a few pairs of shell. Was hoping someone had some knowledge on the age of these. AE Imperial 6748 "Nailess Heel Cushioned". Currently a Biltrite nylon heel.

Picked up a cashmere Brioni sports jacket from TK Maxx of all places. Not cheap, but still 85% off retail. I need to work out how to press it though, they don't store clothes properly there.

Always a good time, dude.
Can't say enough about how generous this man is. One of his texts, while WAITING for me to arrive late (and basically wandering around the store): "Come thrift from my cart."
That PRL linen is going to be awesome come summer.

Found stuff. At my rate it'll be June by the time I photograph it.

But I did photograph these.... Thanks again for helping make these happen, Silverwarebandit.

Dear God, it's beautiful

This has nothing to do with the olympics besides being a fashion souvenir from a beverly hills boutique and in all likelihood from 1984. note the lack of olympic rings, or any direct references at all...

the countries are obviously referenced in italian (hence URSS and Cile, Stati Uniti etc etc). of course, Valentino did the italian's uniforms and Levi's did the americans and this doesn't look to have anything to do with either...

so it's just a cool LA souvenir umbrella that sort of obliquely references the games (and yes the soviets did boycott). i'm not saying it's not a thing, it's just not official olympics swag. still kinda interesting...
