Might be too complicated, and I'm not the man to organise such things, but at least I've put it out there.

For English thrifters, the concept is based on a classic episode of Lovejoy, though that involved antiques obviously. It's early and I'm on the internet talking about Lovejoy. This is weird.

I'm down. or better yet. pool funds together for this years "Thtifties" winner.  side note, we should name it. and have a plastic statue made in china. we could call it "The Dudleys".

if no one has any objections,we should have a series of awards. i"d like to run it. and will set up some categories. so the best of the thread can haz a statue to prove their thrift badassery.

Edit: while on the topic, id like some info on importing a car from the UK to Japan.(Thrifted) if the UK regulars can help? this might be a long term project.

So i found this awesome bespoke overcoat from Castellani in Milan (sellers of Brion, Kiton etc.)
Handwork everywhere, smoked MOP buttons, surgeon cuffs etc.
Anyone have any idea on what the fabric could be?
I'm tossing up between cashmere, camel & some vicuna/alpaca type animal.
FWIW, it feels much softer than my Dries Van Noten camel hair coat

Started off ok but finished with a banger of someone's tie collection. All from one stop.

Watches were 3 and 4 clams each, are vintage, working, automatic, and totally NA.

No. Black label is their highest tier.

Most sort of interesting thing from today: The question, is it legit? :hide:

There are buttons underneath that hold the collar down. I've seen that on another EZ shirt that I kept for myself due to a defect.

What throws me off is that it is completely not like the usual EZ stuff I've seen. It is in your face Springtime.

Lots of tags (looks sort of legit to me):

But the rest of the tags just look/feel sort of cheap to me even though the RN matches.

Thanks!

Real. Great pattern. Fucking dry out here. Just an obscure Japan shirt and a Hermes tie. Pics later. Ahhh, who am I kidding?! Not even worth posting...Better luck next week.

I saw the exact same style tie here in Toronto, where it said silk on the bottom and had the chinese letters. It had the "d" on the front and actually was a decent pattern and it definitely caused a double look before I threw it back in disgust :)

I see them and other vintage autos fairly often here, though most are not in working condition. A couple years back I snagged a NIB Hamilton Khaki Quartz (wish it had been auto) with all the paperwork for $15 on 20% off day.

Little help here. I rarely ask this but maybe I'm just having a brainfart day:

Cantarelli?

Any idea on this one? Thanks!
