Overkill for my current situation, but couldn't pass it up. Best steamer on the market according to my research.

Not bright enough for a thrift fit pic, but kitted out today through the generosity of @eazye (Canali flannels and BB belt), @hooker4186 (AE chelsea boots) and @Mr G from SD ('dildo shirt). Thanks again guys!

I couldn't decide whether it was mahogany, teak, or koa.

In related news I know exactly what kind of wood I just found

confident it's not koa either (koa more resembles walnut). possibly sycamore?

There's a lot of variation with koa, but I think it typically has those long, linear striations while walnut's are curvier. Sycamore is a good guess and I'm far from convinced it's koa.

At least during the GFT days, all of the GFT brands except Calvin I think were eligible for custom -- Armani Collezioni, Val, Abboud. Most common was Val. It was terribly advertised and they only had one dude doing it. Elite customers only.

Definitely tough to say without seeing it in person. My vote would be for something like Maple or Cherry. Definitely a lighter wood so I'd vote against teak, mahogany etc. Knowing the object probably would help narrow it down some.

Yep. Every so often something good will show up.

As best as I can tell, this thing is a sculpture meant to hang from a shelf. It's signed and dated 51 or 57. It's very well made, perfectly balanced.
