The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 2008

Ok, it took HOURS, but I managed to get through the 100 page backlog and there were A LOT of posts and some amazing finds.

Some comments/conclusions from immersing myself in 100 pages of Thrift Brags:

1. Someone found a Cashmere Brioni Coat and did not kop it and then came on here and told everyone they did not kop it.  That seems like the opposite of Bragging.

2. There is a little old lady that must be stopped.  She is seriously using Hermes ties for quilting?   I still have never found one and she is making a mockery of all things thrift and destroying Hermes ties for a quilt?  Jesus.

3. Spoo apparently acts like a Crazy Person when he is in thrift stores.

4. Frenchy doesn't care who knows where he thrifts and what he pays and he is still winning.

5. Seeing all these posts of great finds just makes me want to leave work and get out there thrifting!  You people suck! I have a lot of work to do!

@330CK that is incredible! An amazing story!   Congratulations, sincerely!

HIFI Dudebros, Looking at kopping a pair of Audio-technica ATH-EW9, or some Bose QC15s, or something else portable to listen with. Mainly listening to Punk, Jazz, Electronic-ish easy listening(Massive Attack type stuff), and audiobooks. Any recommendations? I picked up some Bose MIE1s, and just wasnt impressed at all.

Is it your birthday?  Happy Birthday!  (Mine was yesterday and I felt very special that it was a National Holiday).

I've been a 100% Sennheiser guy for years now, and the most recent pair I picked up were just for listening to stuff on my phone while on the plane or whatnot, so I wanted them to be small & light, i.e.: "on-ear" not "full-size".  Your portable headphone budget is quite a bit more than mine - I think I paid like $75 for my last pair and am totally happy with them.  There are hundreds of styles & models among the top 5 or so brands, and I'd be loathe to recommend a specific model - you probably hear things differently than I do.  If you have a B&M with a variety to try before you buy, I'd go that route.

cnet also has a recently updated best-of list, a bunch of reviews, as well as a guide to choosing the right form factor.

No idea, sorry mang. Overcoats are hard to date, the styles didn't change much. Plus it's English and doesn't have any union tags, so I don't have much to go on. Could be anywhere 20s-60s.
