The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 1977

Ok guys. I'll try to kop for the science. But it's going to have to wait a few days. I'm going away for the week-end.
Considering it has damage it might still be there, and I might be able to negotiate the price down with the cashier. too bad I can't go back today :/

would be hysterical if it was Loro Piana.

Kiton, like Frenchy said.

Also to reiterate, if the sleeves were missing and it had a skid mark on the ass of the jacket, I still would have paid 30 bucks for it.

Well it was fake, only place I found it was on a fake site, and it was the exact one. And no ita nothing superspecial, but if real I would have been stoked, first time finding neighborhood anything outside of tres bien outlet. Adding to the earlier dryspell debate, thrifting in sweden is like dying in a desert, finding that drop of water that saves you just in time every time. I havnt bought a tie in months....

Ok c'mon, you keep saying this but you can't honestly be operating under the notion that's what it's worth.

You found a fucking dream coat....

With that said though, I've never come across an item in a thrift store that is worth the retail price of a brand new model with tags, especially when it's damaged too...maybe I'm not going to the right ones. Say we were all operating with this logic, everyone's thrift post would consist of texts stating things like "Zegna Cashmere Blazer $3,500" and "mint Brioni suit $6,000 and left cuz of small stain".... A 95 S600 Benz with 120K miles with a small ding, is a boss fuckin whip, but it's not worth $190,000.

You found a personal Grail item. You found a gorgeous piece of clothing. You found Brioni cashmere. You didn't find 11k. You found someone's dated, damaged coat. Lets just be honest here.

New model. No damage.

But hey, maybe I'm missing something..

'Sonny, you should buy these shirts with the green tags. They're 50% off. The red ones are full price!'

Thank you ma'am. These happen to be my favorite brands. Appreciate it though
