SO last night I went to AA to celebrate my 20th sobriety birthday...she went to the local GW and found me a pair of Edward Greens...WTF.
However, they are not my size-these are 9D (as hand written) awesome light brown captoe brogues.
Once I make them pretty they will be available for trade.

Congrats! Sounds like a great night.

It was so hot, I'm surprised I am not even more wrinkled.

I can't remember if I posted this prior thrift pic or not. Its just a better view.

Thanks Koala! She is beautiful. I am not sure what witchcraft helped me land her. But, lets hope the spell doesn't wear off!

No pickups, but some interesting stuff I don't see everyday:

Vintage Last Rites kit, anyone?

This has got to be a Thread First. What a Wild thing to find. Were you in a Catholic Thrift Store? You would think whoever had that would donate it to a Catholic store or Church. I see the pamphlet on the Last Rights. But, I suspect that is more geared to Communion. My father brings communion to people at the hospital (because he is retired and old and trying to get into heaven. Just kidding. I think that was his Joke). I wonder if he has something like this.

Which reminds me...

Did anyone else see this news story and think, "He should sell that on Ebay"?

I saw these today and did not buy them, but I took lots of pictures as I try to learn what Shell Cordovan looks like. These are Florsheims, made in India.

The little creases. Shell does not crease, not even a little.
Thank you. I haven't seen anything made of shell yet, then. I suspect they're surpassingly rare in my part of the country, for the same reason I never see some of the brands I see bragged on here. I mean *never*. But I probably see brands regularly that some of you never only rarely. Just not carried in local stores.
