The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 1889

Man, I need to start listing things. We close in less than two weeks. Our "office" is full of book boxes already.

Records ... and my wife gets a kick out of old Emily Post.

Ebay told me these were rare, but maybe not.

Fuck. So, I'm just doing it wrong.

Think the etching is just popping out because of the flash from the camera, in person it's not nearly that noticeable. Does not feel any more raised than the etching on a pair of black aviators I purchased at retail. Seems like a significant amount of detail to go into for a fake, especially with the B&L engraving under the bridge of the bar attaching both lens' together.

Bostonish would be an accurate description. Live in Medford, thrift primarily Boston area, but my main work takes me all over NE, so I get around a bit.

The RB shouldn't be raised, it's etched in from behind the glass. And there shouldn't be B&L etching with an RB logo on the glass either.

If that's the case then I was sold fake RB's at retail from a Sunglass Hut, which wouldn't be good (my black aviators feel the same as this pair)... B&L is not on the glass, it's on the inside, bottom edge of the bar above the bridge - can see it in the photo below:

Two more sets of stuff. Nothing award winning but most all the ties were a quarter or 50c each. Bruce Jenner top is amazeballs. Erm, wait. Strike that. Reverse it.

@Thrift Vader here's one for you

3 NSXs with mfg tags. Black one badged Honda was RHD. I think one of the drivers was Rick Hendrick, who bought 001 at auction for 1.2mm.

True thrift?!?!?

Only @SpooPoker can drop a $1500 hat into the end of a post that he introduces with "A couple of things."
