This is totally unrelated to thrift but I was doing the dishes and managed to smash a ( thrifted, hey here's the angle!) plate and sliced my wrist, very close to what Would have been... Extremely bloody.. So.. Now I'm going to a party looking with a huge bandage around my wrist, I'm gonna party suicidal style!

How can i find out the size of some Edward Green boots if the writing has all rubbed off?

Some awesome finds guys. Nice work! :nodding:

Now for an unfinished thrift fit...I got this Double Breasted Zegna Suit on eBay (for a very fair price). It's a Su Misura MTM in the most exquisite 15 milmil fabric, and is basically in perfect condition. Tag indicates it was made in 1999, but apart from being ventless (!) it's all relatively classic in style. High armholes, very soft shoulders, wide lapels...it's really really nice.

However, it needed altering pretty much everywhere, so it looks pretty stupid and dumpy in the photo here (particularly the flood pants). When it was pinned and lengthened in the right places at the tailors it looked spot on though. Looking forward to picking it up next week...

@Freehand what's the Maurice Sedwell coat actually like? It seems to be a pretty elusive brand to find out any opinions/info on, particularly on these forums. Andrew Ramroop doesn't have any qualms about saying how incredible (and expensive) his work is...

That flap is a gun flap. Not totally sure of the real history of it but it, certainly is a feature from WW1.

In more practical usage, it's meant to stop water from seeping in when the coat is fully buttoned (with the lapels folded over on a DB trench). However, since yours is a single breasted coat it's useless and is for decoration only.

How pissed was the person who took your picture when you said "here, take a picture of me" and then told them to do it a few times just in case it was not right.
