I've been waiting for some big hits from year-end donations, but it's been really really dry around here. I've found some fun, quirky things and lots of fodder (won't bore you with the latter). My fave things from the past week...

Vintage Velva-Sheen. So weird. I love it.

Vintage Banana Republic bomber. Glorious patina.

Complete in box. Totally AWESOME. Blast from my past and my 4 year old enjoys playing it.

Waiting for someone to tell you how you won't ever get $200 for a Patagonia fleece now.

Wait what?!  Haha nice!  All this time I thought Fueco was smoking ditch weed - no idea Patagonia could do that well.  Nice flip!

I even tried fixing it (e.g.: I smacked it).  So in the last week or two - turntable hosed, receiver hosed, vinyl hosed.

Could be a connection issue. Whenever I move AV components around, something always gets fucked up. It's best to completely rewire everything considering how cheap speaker wire is.

Though if it's a loud hum, it's probably something inside going bad. I usually get soft hums or pops and cracks when it's a minor fixable issue.

Is it a plug with a ground? Try setting it up where it was. There's a chance there's noise being introduced from that particular outlet.

^^^ my first thought as well. dirty power. in certain rooms my own amp acts up.

if the plug doesn't have a third prong you could try simply flipping it 180 and re-plugging it in as well.

Thanks gents...I always properly ground before turning anything on...and if a hum I check the ground.  Nope - loud obnoxious hum like one of the pots has gone bad.  Got it at GW so no harm no foul, and have a few other receivers on hand.  Sell for "parts/repair" most likely.  But that silver face with VU meter was nice to look at.  Oh well....

Potato pic optical illusion. Looks like a large potato in the bag to me (or a rock), but it's just the bag, which is obvious at higher magnification.

Feel free to put up items you have available. Would be great to do some deals and see my thrift being enjoyed by people on here.
