Nice! But watch out - some people on SF get uptight about seeing pics of other member's bear feet.

Haha! This. Only I'd add: To my fellow parents, welcome to another year of failed expectations and kids wired on no sleep and sugar. Isn't Christmas all the wonder you remember as a child?

When I was sneaking the filled stockings back to the mantlepiece last night, I slipped on the stairs into my sunken living room and fell, full weight, one one half of my backside. I have a bruise the size of Manhattan Island and wrenched my back. There was one present under the tree for me: half a bar of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate (got the other half yesterday for my birthday) but it was wrapped in like 20 layers of different papers, so by the time I had it open, I was laughing my head off.  Hubby loves his HB copy of 'Escape from Colditz', a swirly globe light to replace one that broke, and some Funko Pop figures from The 5th Element.  Kids were over the moon with most things. Eldest got a Doctor Who Fourth Doctor robe (courtesy CapnWes) and matching hat. No failed expectations here (except my own, I suppose, though I do love to watch people delight at opening things!) (but I do try very hard not to have any expectations so I can't be let down) (I must be the world's hardest person to shop for). Mom sent a set of knives for my birthday to replace the set she gave me last year, but which I had passed along to a family who had lost everything in a house fire.

I have chocolate. Chocolate makes everything better. I may also indulge in another cup of coffee. Then I will weigh and measure the eBay stuff I photographed last night.

X-Post from the 4th Annual Thrift Thread Gift Exchange Unveiling

A huge shoutout to @ChetB for an insanely generous Thriftmas. I received a Large FR & a Medium FR from him and waited until this morning to open it.

First a few accessories

From Left to Right:

Robert Talbott Carmel - Wool (I absolutely love this and it is now in my tie drawer)

Charvet Silk Tie - (I think this is a first for me a Charvet with no pulls)

Turnbull & Asser Silk Tie

PTO Silk - Pocket Square

Etro Silk - Pocket Square (This is my new favorite square it is gorgeous)

A few pairs of pants in my size

Ralph Lauren Purple Label wool pants

Billy Reid - NWT Khakis (I love these and these are now replacing a pair of Peter Millar as my new Goto khakis)

A few jackets:

Ermenegildo Zegna - You nailed it here, this thing fits perfect and I absolutely love the colors, this is going in my closet near the top of my rotation.

Samuelsohn Corduroy jacket (This will replace an old Calvin Klien jacket my wife got me a few years ago)

Finally a RRL Jean Jacket, I was sad cause it is a little short on me; then my (almost) 13 year old grabbed it and said this is cool tried it on and it fit him perfectly... Little bastard.

I am stunned by your generosity, impressed that this stuff was thrifted. Most of all I am stoked that most of this I will be keeping and I love it.

Merry Thriftmas all!

It is with a heavy heart that I confess to you I bought retail full price. Although it was totally thrift funded, it still made me feel dirty.

I broke down and bought some Wolverine 1000 mile boots. Below are Brown, #8 Cordovan, and Rust colors

These are my new boots, guess which color I purchased

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
If you said #8 Cordovan you are correct (I wanted Rust but they were out in my size). So imagine my surprise when I open the box and there are these reddish hued boots with the model # for #8 Cordovan and the box as well... Anyway, providence took hold and gave me the Rust colored boots I wanted even though Wolverine was out of stock.

The only thing I am still looking at is a brown Filson Mackinaw jacket in Brown. I saw it in this post by (shmidtdalton who now goes by @Ds13) in this post from the thrift fit thread.

Haha, that is a candle snuffer I stole from my wife. I used to use scissors to hold down tags and @Brianpore said it was an awful idea to have something sharp near something you are trying to sell, so I grabbed this.

Merry Christmas you guys. I'm having a wonderful day not wondering if anything is running out at a thrift I'm not, I slept late until 6:30 today, and I'm moving through my first bottle of wine. Best of all, it's 70 fucking degrees in New York.

Thriftsmas Fit:

1960s Brooks Brothers "Brooksknit" jacket - thrifter yesterday $7
Oliver Spencer chambray shirt - $3
Brunello Cucinelli pocket square - not thrift but cheap
Trafalgar surcingle belt - $2
LVC striped shorts - just traded with @snackbandit
My best friend - priceless

I am 45, I am a little old to be wearing trendy selvedge. I have 3 sons one older than a lot of posters so I am allowed to wear dad jeans. Although they are Levi's so not horrible. You think I need to up my denim game?

Also I waited a year on the boots and they never went on sale, most of their other stuff did but not their 1000 miler.
