Pretty sure when you have a Ferrari, you don't need to travel to participate in that story.

i'm just going to leave this here. First time out in months. Arthur Fox. Not sure who that label is; Gm-h thought it might be older Boglioli, but i'm not sure about that. Edit: Fits me close enough that it's NA for now.

And these were both thrift funded and bought via Massdrop, so way lower than normal Panta ties. Very definitely my favorite one-time tie buy EVER. The colors here are SO much better than the flas is giving them credit for.

Espresso Machine Guys - Insight and Flip Talk (Click to show)
Was looking for a bit of a project, and general knowledge building and loved the posts on the espresso machines from a few others.

I ran across the below machine on CL.

http://louisville.craigslist.org/app/5326366583.html

Based on his high price expectations I could likely talk him down a bit but I'm really not sure on two items.
1. I've talked to him and the valve in question is the three way solenoid valve, which according to him should be an easy fix, but the Pasquini website deems it a 5 out of 5 fix. Has anyone messed with one of these machines before and could lend some insight?
2. While it would be fun to work on a use it a few times, I couldn't realistically justify keeping it. While I love a good espresso I don't drink it enough to not sell. However these machines seem to go for anywhere between $300 and $800 pre-owned on the Bay. Is there someone that is key to these that I am missing that dictate the variance? It seems like some identical machines are going for much different prices.

I greatly appreciate any guidance.

I tried registering a gray market car in KY (albeit <25yo cut off) about 10 years ago. Got a LOT of run around from state office and with guys that had them only being able to offer 2 ways to do it both being beyond my comfort level with interpretation of the law. I ended up selling it as a parts car. I'd avoid it personally but for more specific info, check around 502streetscene.net and obviously calling the DMV

I've done a completely rebuild of a e61 machine before (Faema) and they are really super simple. Just be sure to take pics went disassembling to help. I've not messed with a Pasquini but I've used all three of the following companies for parts and had great service:

I'm so sorry I just re-read my post and I've made myself sound like I hate GTi drivers. Didn't mean to sound like a twat. I was doing my take on the Ferrari-drivers-who-feel-the-need-to-wear-a-Ferrari-cap thing. Failed miserably!

I was attempting to mock the boy racers we get here in the UK who would think it's cool to wear this jacket whilst driving one. Or worse still, those that would wear this jacket whilst driving a 1.2 Golf and pretending it's a GTi.

I will amend my post!

Continuing from the home downsizing sale from a couple days ago.  I dropped by today and they were kind enough to let me in and I bought what was left of the sport coats.

I haggled them way down in price plus they threw in for free the seersucker-ish sportcoat along with stuff I missed from the initial visit: zegna trouser, RLRP shirt and 2 ties. n/a

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I'm remembering why I stopped following this thread. I thought it was because I was tired of setting up my finds to photograph them, but it's actually because the things on this thread make most of my kops look like kraps.

Y'all are badass.

I've never seen a $120.00 (Canadian) pair of shoes in GW before.  Same tag in 3 different places on this pair of supposedly Italian shoe, so not just a typo.  "Wow," I thought, "these must be special."  Took a few photos but the resolution is too poor to post.  Make is Pilanto.  Heard of it?  I didn't think so.  Looks like the pricer saw the 359.00 original price tag but didn't notice it was Swedish krona.   Glad there was no original tag on my $15 shell BBs over the weekend!  What's your overpriced thrift story?

It had split a few times and was bought out by BP. Of course I did the responsible thing and cashed it in and bought a 1967 Firebird convertible with 400 engine. And that's why you wait until the kid is 30 to give it to them!

That sounds way cooler than anything I would have considered. I should put some sort of stipulation on it, something like it must be spent on sex, drugs, and/or rock 'n roll. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
