I get into work and call the security office of the parking garage and tell them I found this pen, they said to drop it off at there lost and found, I left them my number to call me if nobody comes to get it... one month later I have a free Monte Blanc pen.

Spill something on a shitty tie and take it to the best cleaners you know. Tell them it's really expensive and to be careful with it, to get the stain out but be sure not to steam press it or else the tie is fucked. See how they do. They pass the test, you have your solution.

If the best cleaner you know, doesn't know a good tie when they hold it? you need a new cleaner.

there is a "last resort" method. and it has been shown to work before. - at your own peril.   @Koala-T has actually had good results, so that makes 2 of us.

Cheers, good info, i didn't know about the steam pressing issue @Jompso

@Thrift Vader Thanks, what is this last resort method you speak of? all the cleaners around here are average, i try a new one each time i clean and have yet to find satisfaction. I will try cleaners first but expect them to fail so what's the method?

This isn't necessarily true. Cleaners don't deal with ties regularly and you can go in with some thick bodied nautica and they may have no clue. All they know is what you tell them and what you tell them is what they do because if they don't do that, they don't get paid. So 2 bucks or 2 hundred, as long as they're concerned it's a fucking cashmere Hermes.

Pressing it will permanently crease the back seam down the middle of the front of your tie, totally ruining it, you can never fix this once this happens.
