They have gone up quite a bit. Both the king and the grand are still undervalued for what they are though. Those are some fucking impressive pieces.

I got this via a trade; we were on the topic of some of the watches people have found in thrifts and what not and then talked about speedys because a buddy of mine has lusted after one for the longest time and it came to the resell of certain watches.

I mentioned something about this thing might be a one way acquisition (for the time being anyway); because I highly doubt I'll get something "better" if I were to sell it. (ie, sell it, and then buying something with the funds from that sale that fits the 10Hz minimum criteria).  The chrono grade vintage GS are basically unicorns and Zeniths are in another level.

Having a good weekend.  Nothing glamorous but it's a small market here.  Stopped by the one and only menswear consignment shop in the city and wasn't really all that impressed.  Owner had never even heard of Vicuna.  But the GW gods were smiling today.

First, a notable bespoke jacket, again with turndown cuffs and no fabric label.  This time, though, it has a date.

Lightweight material looks more charcoal without the flash, so I'm guessing silk/linen? Half price too.  I believe it can work as a sport coat, but might have to search for matching trousers tomorrow.

Then moved on to the shoe rack.  First, these lightweight "Crafted in Italy" split-toe to replace my clunky, half-size-too-big Eatons.  Really soft feel and flex to the leather.  Will need some TLC.

Finally, the prize...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

My first Aldens (for Brooks Brothers), and #8 Shell Cordovan at that! :wow: In my size too ... well, close enough I think.  NA for now.  Thanks SF for the enlightenment!

I get into work and call the security office of the parking garage and tell them I found this pen, they said to drop it off at there lost and found, I left them my number to call me if nobody comes to get it... one month later I have a free Monte Blanc pen.

That was odd.

Is it me or does it seems the stitchings on the label are a bit crooked? I think that's a good clue to tell if something looks fake or not.

If ever I run across a Tom Ford suit anywhere, once the initial shock wears off, will make a documentary in pictures of the thrift sequence which led to the grail, from the parking lot to the rack, to the coat hanger to the purchase.

X-Post from RMHC auction thread because you can still ethrift something for me and do good at the same time.

Theres just about 11 hours left in these auctions, and don't forget that Im giving 10% of the hammer price away to the RMHC charities for the pieces that end tonight. You know you need at least a few ties, some new jackets, something for your girl, so please have a look and start bidding. Theres some great pieces for great prices there so I hope to see these numbers tick up a bit. Id love to close the night at $20,000 and have a $2,000 donation ready to send over to help the kids out.

If you win something just message me on either eBay or PM here and ill adjust your invoice to reflect the StyFoBro shipping price. Good luck guys!

I have been after a GS for a while, but never had the spare cash to pull the trigger; this one for some reason he bumped from 300bin to 270, and I knew it would be quite a bit before I found another in running condition for that price. I know it's the cheapest GS one can buy, but hey, it still is a damn fine piece.
