The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 1444

I'd buy it at thrift prices, worth taking a shot at fixing/listing as is @Van Veen

Channeling my inner @PLaydice with this NOS 1985 NCAA hockey championship shirt. So cherry I thought it had to be a repro at first.

And Penfield is a thing, right? No tag but seems to be in the M - L range.

Not thrift prices though. Discount store clearance.

Edit: I passed. The more I looked at it the more snags I found.

No, I think it's actually the other way around.

Lubiam is mainline. LBM 1911 is the more youthful diffusion line, and Luigi Bianchi Mantova is the upper end -- sort of like Purple Label.

At least I think that's how it was originally conceived. Now I think it's less a diffusion/mainline thing and more a niche marketing thing. Because the cut of Mantova is much more square shouldered and mature/executive, while 1911 is much more deconstructed. They both seem to use the same level of quality construction, overstitch, same degree of non/synthetics (which is to say some among both lines).

I own/have owned a handful of recent pieces of each (from Yoox) and like them both. By the same token, I have returned just as many that I didn't like.

Depends on the price. But i would ask for further discount and show the manager the pulls.

What g said, lbm1911 is the diffusion they created to market to the trendier group.

Quite ironic because im pretty sure lbm1911 ended up doing much better than expected, as I dont think the mainline or the higher end line sells as well (resale too)

By the way: LUigi BIAnchi Mantova = LUBIAM
That's how you get LUBIAM from Luigi Bianchi (the person) from Mantova. L.B.M. Presumably there's some connection to the year 1911 and I could look it up if I didn't have a deadline I was working toward.

Some crap from today. All available.

Zegna wool/silk/linen blend. Dual vents and all that shit. Tagged EU50.

Samuelsohn suit. Untagged size but from same donor of about 5 other 42R suits so let's go with 42R.

Oxxford charcoal flannel suit. 42R.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you happen to know much about the construction of both LBM1911 and the Luigi Bianchi Mantova lines? Canvassing? Looking at a few pieces recently.

Luigi Bianchi Mantova is typically half canvassed, but sometimes fused. If it says satoriale on the tag, then it's like half canvassed.

I thought the sartoriale line was full canvas, there was so much hand work id be surprised if they only went with half

THANKS VADER! I was pretty excited when I saw the old snoopy patch. But, then when I saw the Blood chit, I had one of those moments!
