And then this beast. Super heavy mens wool cape. Totally handmade. I've never in all my years of thrifting come across one of these. It's a little beat up, naturally, but I couldn't leave it there to possibly end up as scrap material. From my limited google-fu, it seems most people stopped wearing capes in the 1890's, though use was on a steady decline since the 1820's, with the rise in popularity of the greatcoat.

Ha! Perfect reference! I was thinking of the same thing. Made me crack up! I had a professor in law school that wore a cape. He was a gay overweight Judge that wore a cape IN KANSAS. A pretty interesting guy as you can imagine.

I bought the same one from Nordstrom Rack ten years ago and wore it like everyday in college. Stupidly donated it a few years back and spent a while looking for a replacement. Fortunately my dad owned the same one and gave it to me recently.

Actually? it is funding my next race car. the Subaru Impreza STi ver.6 i posted yesterday. need to raise $800. so my swag is being offered here first, cheaper. as a win-win of sorts.
