The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 1399

So... I've been on a non-self imposed thrift hiatus because of where we have moved recently, and I have no excuse good enough for the wife to go far enough away to be able to find good thrifts.

Other than the definite withdrawal feelings that I have had, especially while looking through this thread, this hiatus may not be an all-bad thing. I was going through some "old" stuff I've had hanging for quite a long while to try and get organized for selling. I came across a few things that I don't think I've shared here, because they came from before I was a "regular." I think some of you may enjoy.

This is something I bought a long time ago, one of my first thrift finds of my thrifting career, but hasn't fit me in ages. Time to go. 38R

Vintage awesomeness. 1/4 lined, triple patch, droopy sad Oxxford lapels. 48-50ish IIRC

And with pants, of similar vintage, I believe.

And this thing is too awesome also. Navy Herringbone, 1 moth hole in the tail, and a little bit of fray on the bottom edge/corner of the left quarter. But suuper cool.

And some snaps of shirt backlog pile 1 of 3.

Tough size I would guess. (28x34)

These were a good pass, they look to be student jeans. (Levis use to give students a huge disc on jeans, but sold them the lowest of the low quality jeans, because who really cares when you're broke?)

Good call. I was a 28 x 34 at age 18 and used to buy super cheap Levis at the student shop. Now - 34 x 32 - WTF happened?!

What's weird is I get mail all the time addressed to a "Waffles (last name I don't remember)"...Apparently someone named Waffles lived here before me. I had a cat named Pancake, but who names a person Waffles? Back on topic, I go to Waffle House but have never had a waffle there. Eggs & cheese, bacon, yes please!

Texas Cheesesteak. Epitome of grease. Luckily(or unluckily for my life expectancy and cholesterol), I have 2 waffle houses in either direction of me in walking distance.

Talked with a bro at work, who had hit up the shop by my house, and mentioned he left some LB trou there in my size. Got off work early due to corporate stuff and hit up the shop. I didnt find the LBs, but I did find a few great personal things.

Blarney merino chunky zip na

Chunky Peruvian Alpaca sz S Avail

Now things get fun

Tooootally NA

Then this happened

True vintage Vietnam era, hand painted.

Always on the look out of vintage Nashville Sounds stuff, and I actually dont own a shirt; so this was a personal grail.

Kangol cap for me, and a couple bandannas for the collection.

I thrifted something I never thought I would; any help on dating would be useful, but Im guessing probably 70's-ish
