To whoever has me in the thriftmas gift exchange... (Click to show)

I'll start out by saying that I'm not very picky. Anything that you get me will honestly be appreciated! That being said, here are some things that I was going to buy for myself soon (or things that I always do buy for myself):

Clothing/Menswear - (The only thing I'm picky about is that my ties have to be 3.25") Cashmere ties, Wool ties, leather gloves, cashmere sweater, flat front flannel pants, pocket squares, solid white/light blue dress shirts in 14.5 slim, charcoal suit in 36R (17 inch shoulders are tricky af to find though), sports coats, blazers, light grey undershirts, really anything that is very conservative (but slim fitting)

Other stuff- coffee, fountain pens, men's fashion books, automatic watches, law related things, antiques.

Seriously though, you can't mess up. If there's nothing on that list above that you can find, surprise me! I always like surprises.

Clean tennis shoes will do in place of tennis balls, although they make an awful racket.

More importantly, I am looking a city that can give me the elusive thriftening experience. I am talking about Kiton, Attolini, Loro Piana, gator vest, vicuna pillows and stuff. Here are the cities I've narrowed down to, and if you live there, you can't dissuade me :p

- Chicago

- Seattle

- Washington DC

I'm in Seattle-ish. I've never found Kiton, gator (except a couple of purses), vicuna, Attolini, etc. I have found Loro Piana. And with the exception of the downtown corridor and the various transit centers in nearby towns, the public transit sucks. Greatly.

I finally found a StyleForum person at the local thrift. Apologies if he's reading, but I didn't get the nickname (I'm bad with names). I suspected he was a SF guy because he had on a very loud houndstooth sportcoat and a well groomed beard - not at all typical of PNW folks. He was.

Does this count as a grail? ;)

Does this say 50th or 57th on the sleeve? If it's the 50th anniversary one then $$$. But I think the corol is to straight it should be to the side on the 50th.

That's fantastic! Look on the other side of the label, it should say what it's made of.

no its a 50th that's the one you want. There very hard to come by I haven't seen one for sale since I got mine about three years ago. (And I paid up for it online) as I had to fight over it. There desirable good find.
