I'm in Chicago. If you're downtown there appears to only be 2 thrift stores that are walkable and I didn't find much like you're looking for. There's other stores around the city but they're not that close in a car so walking seems bad.

Go to Manhattan.... no doubt about it. I have thrifted Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Columbus, DC, NYC, and inbetween. They are all good for different things, but if your looking for the goodies and public transportation go to Manhattan. I don't know why I quoted this, but I figured you would see it either way.

Okay so the best part of all this is that everything you are about to see is a keeper. So n/a unless you have to have something.
Week started well. Some casual summer pants.

Then some nice wool.

These are certainly the best AE's I have found in my size and fit a nice hole in my shoe wardrobe.

Next I found a nice upgrade to my summer blue blazer.

Cool buttons and a Zephyr weave. Almost like a strainer made of fabric.

Then another sportsjacket in a nice green.

Zegna 15Milmil.

I immediately liked it because it was similar to another I thrifter earlier in the year.

Now it starts to get interesting. Went back to the store I got the cashmere Kiton suit. Not true thrift but close and we'll worth it.
First for my wife NWT St John suit and St John cashmere angora blend coat.

Then the goods for me. Ricci tie wardrobe.

And the big boys sold as a suit.

This Brioni is insane nice. Dual vents, patch pocket, I assume cashmere or the softest wool ever. Completely unstructured and both the coat and the pants seem to never have been worn.
Very happy day in Dallas. Thank you thriftening!!!

speak of the devil, just copped a pair of LVC 44s (my favorite favorite cut), 30w but you'd have some flexibility with the inseam, measures out to around 34". Unusual in that they're rinsed and chipped but still made in US of A. nice wash. i'm sure they're unworn. want pics? hit me up!

:)

in other news, i'm way too lazy to pic right now but it was 50% day at GW in these parts and i ended up copping a bunch of shit for personal use, including:

- filson dry tin cloth cruiser vest, so sweet

- versace henley with cute-as-fuck medusa buttons

- corneliani wool/cash sc

- steven alan inside out shirt

I love the owner of that consignment shop for the Brioni, it was too short in the arms for me. She consistently has nice recent stuff and the CEO of Neimans even consigns there *shhh*

I did not know that. Thanks for the heads up. No reason for anyone else to know which store it is in my opinion. As long as you are leaving stuff like that, I am happy to share all day.😃 I did leave a lot of great stuff there since I don't normally wear suits. Too bad that all her shoes seem to be a size 12, too big for me or I would have got some of her RL made in england.
I am hoping to go back there for a long time.
