More importantly, I am looking a city that can give me the elusive thriftening experience. I am talking about Kiton, Attolini, Loro Piana, gator vest, vicuna pillows and stuff. Here are the cities I've narrowed down to, and if you live there, you can't dissuade me tongue.gif

- Chicago
- Seattle
- Washington DC

If you show up anywhere with those expectations, you are sure to be disappointed.

I lived in Tampa back when I lived here - on Rome Ave near the bay. I'm staying on this side the whole time I'm here tho. No toes stepped upon!

Wisconsin representing here as well! Born and semi-raised.

Just back from a nutso wedding rehearsal - had to leave early else never. 7 hours until the community garage sale I'm looking forward to - just enough time to sober up and catch some z's. Also, there's a lizard in my hotel room named Steve. Not that it told me its name - I named it. Been here for two days. He's cool.

It wouldn't be thrifting if I am paying $60 a day for a rental car. I got down to those 3 cities because they were all in  a top 10 walkable city list XD

@TheNeedMachine: Yes, I know. But it's good to dream. I think I've come across Kiton twice in my thrifting life, Loro Piana once, and have yet to pop my Attolini cherry. And this is after thrifting in NYC. So realistically, I would be fine with a haul of Canali or Zegna suits.

60 a day for a rental car is excessive, outside nyc etc. And it would be deductible. But I'd go Chicago if those are your 3 choices. Like anywhere else, you being there has nothing to do with the goods being there - always pure luck.

OH for you gamblers - read nothing but bad reviews for Hard Rock Tampa...but I walked out up 600 bones after 3 hours. Gonna blow it all on the bride and groom! Love those peeps!!

Fuck.Me. Rhz, damn.

And you can get rentals for way cheaper than that. I just booked mine for when I'll be in LA for 30 a day including insurance.

Who is next for the KnowledgeBox TM? It needs a new home!

I like the trend of posting the wants for the holiday exchange. Keep going with that at least until my guy posts his. :nodding:

What is up with this? Most interesting find of the day (also hit up a new GW I had not been to before, must be outside of the MN guys territory, it felt new and minty....)

Missing the floofy collar of course. Dang. Initially I thought this was a woman's coat...

Alpha Industries, No wait, Youth sized....

With fake plastic bullets included... :uhoh:

Re the gift exchange - whoever drew me, first off, apologies for the postage cost. But on the upside I've got pretty broad taste in clothes (measurements are on my profile) and would equally be delighted to receive something completely out of left field/ non-clothing related. Whatever you do, don't let this cause any stress!

Classic Thrifter...you might have to give this away for the gift exchange.

I don't see any takers. If we see someone with less than ten posts, might be a good candidate.

Also, not sure why the hard rock would get bad reviews. Aside from the overpriced drinks, I always have a good time when I am there

Go on Expedia they have rental cars for $15 a day. In a big city as spread out as Chicago you can't get to very thrifts in the burbs or cover much territory with public transportation.
