You've got at least 3 active from the KC area. There was another Wichita member, LeSacre, but he hasn't been active for awhile. In med school, I believe.

More importantly, I am looking a city that can give me the elusive thriftening experience. I am talking about Kiton, Attolini, Loro Piana, gator vest, vicuna pillows and stuff. Here are the cities I've narrowed down to, and if you live there, you can't dissuade me :p

- Chicago

- Seattle

- Washington DC

Isn't everyone looking for the same thing?   Hell, I would even give up the good public transportation and pay for a rental car if I could thrift that stuff.

I'd get a rental car even in a place with good public transportation. Fuck being on someone elses schedule.

Yea, me too.  I can't imagine trying to rush around a city from thrift store to thrift store hauling my crap around. Plus, I have found thrift stores in cities I am not familiar with just by driving around.  Sometimes the best ones aren't well known because the people who have found the great places don't talk much about them.

I would sleep in car. It may be a business trip, but I'm still paying for it.

I noticed earlier that I was on post #990 and I wanted to make sure that with my 1000th post I took a moment to thank you all for this great forum and for such a great group of guys (and a few women).   I kind of suck at Memes. But, I took a stab at creating a few.

I have learned such a tremendous amount from this group.  I have gained a true appreciation for the art of thrifting.  AND, I have learned just how much I still need to learn.  It is unusual to have a group of strangers on a forum that is really a community.

I really do want to say thank you to everyone here.  I'm sure it sounds all mushy and dopey to say, but despite the fact that I have not met any of you in person, I think I have found some friends.  That is pretty unusual for an internet forum.  But, I'm grateful.

Glad to see some cool finds springing up around here. Haven't been out much but If I happen to stumble across some Kiton pants I'll send them your way :)

Maybe, depends on the item. Some stuff does really well, some doesn't. Styling is everything with those pieces

No time for thrifting, spent 15 hours at school yesterday.
