You win some, you lose some. Walked in a store today and saw a lady carrying around a handful of Hermes ties. I waited for her outside and asked if I could purchase them from her as she left. She looked at me and said,"You hardly look like the type that wears a Hermes tie." Right, just because I was wearing casual clothing there's absolutely no way I would like wearing nice ties. Some people have no class.

I used to ask the thrift gods for Barbour, vicuña, etc before going thrifting. Lately I've changed to just asking for some eBay fodder and maybe something cool that I haven't seen before, if they feel generous.
