The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Part II (Return to the Thunderdome) - Page 1082

I can speak for all of us when I say, we're here for you Wes. Truly sad thing to go through no doubt, but, I can say with 100% confidence that Mia couldn't have had a better couple to raise her. She will pass on a happy happy pup and go into puppy heaven and probably show other pups how to thrift a bad ass doggy bed or brag to them how she had a perfectly cooked T-Bone as her last meal, prepped on a thrifted grill, by her amazing owners.

RIP Mia.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
We are headed out in an hour or so to send off our little pup, Mia, who we've had for about 14 years. It has been the hardest decision we've ever had to make, and we are so utterly exhausted from weeping. Since we have been unable to have children, Mia has filled the void better than anyone could have ever hoped or imagined. She has done nothing but love us every minute of every day. She used to go on hunger strikes for the sitter when we would leave town for the weekend, she would always be in the window watching for our return from work or wherever.

We sure spoiled her......of course we spoiled her. Eggs for breakfast, chicken breast for dinner and homemade peanut butter/banana icecream for dessert every day. She slept where she wanted, whether in the middle of the hall (making us step over) or on my side of the bed (refusing to let me in), but hey, you kinda let a 95 pound alpha dog sleep where she wants.

She has seen her share of medical problems, as many of you know. She has a prosthetic eye...and is naturally blind in the other. She survived breast cancer (yes, that's a thing), she's had all sorts of liver, kidney and urinary issues and probably suffers from mild cushings. Through all that, we were never greeted with less than a loving growl, warm kiss and a cheerful wag.

This is going to suck so bad.

We got lucky with some sunshine this week and had a chance to get a few more photos of her. She's always loved the camera.

Here she is with her best buddy, shortly after Holly got her.

She told me she wanted Weber-grilled T-Bone for her last meal, and that is just what she got.

She ate so fast, I could not get a still pic. lol.

See you later, old friend. We love you so much.

Wes: I think I speak for anyone who knows you when I say you're one of the best dudes around. So I couldn't feel worse that you're going through this. We're all here for you, and I'm sure every one of us wants to know what we can do to help.

Whatever you need.

Keep smiling.

Sorry, Wes.

That time always sucks, but it looks like your hound lived the good, good life.

Very empathetic with what your going through. Putting down a pet is always difficult.

Aw man. I'm so sorry dude. Saying good-bye to pets is the worst. Looks like the two of you gave her the best life she could have had. I'll give my little dog an extra special dinner and a hug tonight for her.

Couple brags from today. All available, except possibly the saddle(?) shoes.

I'll work backwards because I found the best stuff first:

NWOT Jack Spade lime/mint university stripe OCBD sz. M

Left Field chinos. Not super familiar with the brand but I believe that they're the miner's chinos. sz. 34 (actual measurement 33) x 30.5.

Mystery saddle(?) shoes. Really oily leather, similar to chromexcel and badass brass eyelets. Cat's Paw heel. Heelpad has a pattern of concentric circles on it, but no brand/model legible. sz. 10 D and they fit like a damn glove.

And... my first thrifted shell. AE Leeds in burgundy shell. Crazy nice patina, Cat's Paw heels. sz. 10 D. Also has the concentric circle heelpad, so I think the saddles may also be AE.

Some stuff is probably duplicates but I can't remember what I've posted so oh well.

RLPL is the clear winner here.

Wes, being a first time dog owner, i can't imagine what it must be like to lose your best friend. I remember you were telling me about her a few years ago. It brought warmth to my heart hearing you talk about her. I wish you guys the best. Heal soon.
