Swedish death metal?
@Nobleprofessor After some research, i can tell you your Teapot was made by the company that was founded in the late 1860's with differing markings on the base. with the actual signature changing as the craft was passed down through generations of the company. the good news? Yours bears the original signature according to research on this end.
see this pic?
The one on the left is a first generation piece, the one on the right is later.
Here is a pic of your Teapot:
See this "Legit" Teapot:
They did not disclose the value on this one.
Now the later generation teapot? which is less legit, but more ornate??
Sold for 700,000 Yen. which off the top of my head rounds out to about $6,000+ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You bought this on a Gut feeling? You sir, Have "The Thrift".
-While it is extremely hard to know what year, or style without a serious Japanese teapot pro. My guess is yours is after the first generation, as it's design is more refined.*(note the smoother join around the middle, and the lid style) but you have a 100% Legit piece of Japanese Art, with the minimum Value of $250. and a shot at the $6+k . after having it assessed.
Congratulations on finding this years thrifty winner.

I do not know off my head what department stores sell RLPL or the like? Saks probably?Do you have a store in your area that sells them? Just go to the store and try them on to confirm your size. I have done that with some things and then bought them on ebay.
