How do people feel about boots with laces and zippers like the new epaulet combat style?

Really don't like the shape of those, like a dressy combat boot, narrow toe box/welt plus low heel, just looks unbalanced.

Yeah it's kinda weird, flat and narrow from the side, wide and boxy from the vertical top view. Kinda remind me of kenneth cole or something

Combat boots are objectively awesome, and I want to like the Epaulet version, but I find myself wishing they had another eyelet or two and not quite being sold on the shape. I think you can have a low-profile combat boot look good, but there's almost a ridge-like effect going on at the front of the toebox. I think they'd look better with a slightly more rounded toebox in terms of top-to-bottom measurement or a slightly sleeker toebox from side-to-side. Also, I think the use of metal eyelets is at odds with the relative sleekness (or low profile, anyway) of the boot. Blind eyelets would work better here.

They do look a little better worn than in the product shots:

It's possible I'll buy a pair if they come out with them in the unfinished horsehide they offered for their sneakers recently.

Can't wait to see what the new Junya x Henrich Dinkelacker collab looks like close up. Up until now everything has been very English from Junya, so it'll be interesting to see what he does with Hungarian style shoes. Seen some acorn color full brogue derbies but couldn't make out much of the last shape in the photos.

Epaulet almost always have decent materials but the dorkiest of shapes. Those chelsea boots...

I saw henrich dinckelacker in kyoto a few years back, they are crazy awesome.

Epaulets shirts sleeves are too short.

They make some cool shoes, but Bison boots with a leather sole?  That's a waste of good heard wearing leather.
