Yes. And it seems to depend on the area. I had a dance partner once, and she was bigger than I was. I am not that small. But she 6', just an inch taller, but unlike a lot of the model types I know, instead of just being long and leggy, it was like someone took a typical American girl, maybe 135-145 lbs, and 5'6-5'7", and used the +150% zoom button. It was also pretty hard to lead her, and at that time, I was strong for my size then (1bout 165-170 lbs) and with most of that strength through my core. She told me that she was small for the area that she came from, and I laughed, until her brother and her boyfriend visited, and they clocked in at 6'5" and 6'6" apiece, and neither of them just tall and slender, either. Both guys were about 250 lbs apiece, and while they were not svelte, they were definitely not fat, either.

Isn't the average height in Sweden around the same, I'm 5'9" and feel like a surf walking round Stokholm.

In Brazil on the other hand I'm just above average, which was very odd.

yea Swedes are pretty tall, but Dutch people more so (tallest people on earth at the moment).

RFT: Fascinate has some of the best customer service I ever came across with an online retailer. Was very surprised how clear English communication was, considering this is a Japan based retailer. I just wished they stocked more than the run of the mill Japanese gothninja brand.

speaking of Fascinate, how's the B&M store? I'll be in Osaka for a couple of days in December and was wondering if I should check it out

It's 5'11" in Sweden, which sounds about right from my experience.

I feel like a giant this weekend after layovers in Tokyo and Singapore.

There have been many studies recently about why today, the Dutch are, BY FAR, the tallest nation on Earth.
It was not always this way. In particular, it was not this way in 1945. It was certainly not that way in the 17th century, when the Dutch were shorter than the neighbouring French.

THroughout the 1st half of the twentieth century, Americans were the tallest. Then American height stabilised. But after 1945, everyone else got taller. But the Dutch skyrocketed.

It is now put down to dietary improvements worldwide catching up with American standards after 1945. But the jury is still out why the Dutch skyrocketed. The leading theory is natural selection. In Holland, somehow, taller women had sex with taller men and had tall children, whereas shorter men and women either emigrated or remained childless.

IN any event, the implication for IKEA is they have to make longer beds for the Dutch market.

Dutch diet for sure is 100% healthier than most Countries. Meat and vegetables, bought daily from greengrocers, butchers and bakers.

I lived there for the first half of my life before moving to Canada. We were shocked to find what most people ate here.

Can confirm. My Dutch immigrant grandfather was probably under 5'6.

Dutch diet is disgusting.

Vegetables grown in Holland--tomatoes, spinach, etc---have NO TASTE WHATSOEVER. they taste bland and like water. That is because they are grown in either greenhouses with no sunshine and in artificial light, or in artificial soil from land reclaimed from the Zuiderzee.

Other than that, Dutch diet doesn't really have much of a difference compared to the English or Germans. The French eat a lot more cheese and milk products than anyone else. But in terms of meat, England Holland, France and Germany are the same.

Also, when it comes to vegetables, Dutch don't really eat it. Their cheese is **** and mass produced, like in Wisconsin. Things like Parrano are cheap copies of Italian masterpieces like the Parmegiano Reggiano. The Gouda and the Edam were good in the old days, but today it's mass produced cheaply for export.

There are bakers in Holland? How old are you? Maybe in 1960. Today there is nothing but Starbucks.

Today's Dutch diet:

Breakfast: Nasi Goreng (loving called Nasi)...for the hangover from last night's 12 beers.

Coffee and pastry at Starbucks (disgusting)

Lunch: McDonald hamburger, fries and big coke

followed by Kaffeehuis

Dinner: Quinoa and spinach salad and tuna melt. Supposed to be for detox, but tastes like nothing. Tuna is cans imported from China.

After dinner: Binge drinking until you pass out.

Also, that sprinkle thing that goes on the bread , which all the kids are obsessed with in Holland, the licorice-flavoured sprinkle thing---what is that? It cant' be good for you. I'm guessing here--but is it made in China? Then it's definitely not good for you!!

My guess is the Dutch, like most northern Europeans, have good genetics, but at the rate Holland's food, like all of Europe's food, is deteriorating into ****, I don't know how much longer it can last...

Greece, of course, is the absolute worst. But we have much bigger problems than diet quality and on top of everything else there is a mass invasion going on....
