It's tracking that adds expense (and if you go above 2kg). Untracked light stuff isn't generally too exorbitant (well not considerably more exorbitant than our inland rates).

It was a small GLS packages weighing in at sub 500g with box.

Shipping in general here crazy expensive.

Ouch - It's about £10 for a European tracked small parcel up to 500g using Royal Mail from here.

I don't think we've shipped a single package o an international destination that was less than $40. Ever. Including some of the smaller/lighter packages. And we use USPS Intl Priority, not an express courier

It almost costs the same for me to buy a return ticket to the UK and hand deliver it in East London as it did sending it.

because im a special flower, im reposting this (orginally in leather jacket thread).

I got a leather jacket many years ago, but unsure if it makes sense?

Heavy Swedish goat skin, made in the 40s-50s, in this style:

Mine is way more worn, but still in good shape. Fits me well but pretty boxy (which I dont mind). Should I squeeze it in to my outerwear rotation?

My buddy has a jacket a lot like that one, similar age but american and in horsehide. It's so heavy and thick he rarely wears it but I think it looks awesome when he does. IIRC, his has big lapels, unlike that one.

the lapels on my jacket can be buttoned like this

A friend of mine has and tells me it's just like soft cashmere. I assume it doesn't have that slightly silky hand of alpaca.

Bet it makes living in the Bay Area seem relatively inexpensive now.
