I live in Europe, so seems like a hassle sending it to the us an then sending it back to Europe.

****. Did NMWA do those linen blend tunics again and I missed it again? That thread gets too much traffic for me to keep tabs on and I don't remember seeing anything about the MTO in their newsletter.

EU VAT refund is such a sham. You get back 12% (not 18%), it was promised in 3-5 days but it took about a month to get the refund (and still counting for some), and the rate for the currency back is terrible (another 5-6% against you).
But it was not as bad as the ridiculous rate offered by money exchange booths in France and Italy. ~€65 for $100 (market exchange rate was €1 = $1.06).
Always go to Europe with a bunch of cash, and then draw down on that slowly, and only as you need. Otherwise, use Amex when you can, and Visa/Mastercard when you must.

Used my credit card as much as possible, but for places that were cash only I used my debit card in an ATM to withdraw Euros. Rates were very good and only 1% extra from my bank.

Capital One 360, Charles Schwab, and a few others have bank accounts that offer no forex fee on ATM withdrawals, and they use the market exchange rate.

I was surprised about the 12% VAT deduction though. It makes it sometimes cheaper to buy it online and get it shipped out of the EU...

Got a few post-holiday days to kill in Houston before I move to SF. Haven't been here in a bit, anything new worth checking out?

I don't know if it's still possible but I was in contact with Bless back in May about custom ordering the hoodcoat and they had a variety of colors/fabrics to choose from.

Yeah, they've been running preorders of the hoodcoat on their webstore for a while too. I just need to figure out my size.
