Random fashion thoughts - Part II (A New Hope) - Page 705

shah i bought a saatva mattress and have been fairly happy with it after having all the commercial types like spring air and some hotel mattresses which I would avoid at all costs...they're like appliances designed to fail

i avoid pillow tops and go for medium firm mattresses now which are better for your spine, also no memory foam as I'm a hot sleeper and i can't imagine how you'd fuck on it

next mattress will probably be a kluft or shifman or some handmade mattress of real quality

I'm on my phone, so I can't find them right now, but either rivet&hide or meadow had white denim. I may have remembered incorrectly an they are from a different brand.

Ikea really isn't bad at all. I know alot of people who have their box spring mattresses.

Also, this guy reppin Bape on Instagram, has been going around disrespecting everyone at the Supreme store, and all who wear Supreme.

Jonah Hill included.

Going to be in Boston for the 3rd and 4th of July, any recommendations (shopping, food, drink, points of interest)?

Lord Hobo in Cambridge is a good beer spot.

Also, the Trillium Brewery in Ft. Point sells great beers. Unfortunately, they only sell bottles to go, but if you are ok taking bottles back to your hotel or home with you, it's definitely worth seeking out.

Who has these?

Random thought, I couldn't care less for drake but it's refreshing seeing him were loose and baggy clothing as opposed to all the lemmings parroting (two animals?) kanye and company.

I got mine from UO for pretty cheap when they carried Big John, but it seems like any legit brands they carry for one season and then dump them (I assume this is an intentional strategy on their part, probably something to do with being evil).

Re: mattresses, I'm partial to latex foam. It's way springier than memory foam (and cooler IME) and doesn't have coils sticking into your ribs and pelvis when you're trying to sleep.

If you like memory foam type mattresses I'm pretty sure the ones on Amazon for like a few hundred bucks are pretty ok

Slept on hastens in some hotels and yeah they're pretty comfy. Price is woah though

Which hotels use hastens? Seems like the capital expense per room using these would put a big damper on profitability.

The import duties were paid on Tuesday, and I am leaving Canada on Saturday morning.  Anniversary gift.  Also CS is friendly, but every since request apparently takes 24-48 hours, even for time sensitive deliveries.  How can a time sensitive delivery take 48 hours to process?

Also, I was assured on 2 separate occassionts that the request had been send through.  No such luck.  Also, the import duties was made first thing on Tuesday morning.  "No probllem, we'll get that to you."

I'm gonna start a delivery service, with true advertising in mind:

"We'll deliver your shit whenever we damn well please."

I think you would find Alan Bilzerian interesting for shopping, but they might be closed on Sundays. Since you're only here for two days though, I honestly think your time is better spent just walking around and seeing the city.

Food is somewhat dependent on where you're going to be. But as a general rule, I like neptune oyster bar for the lobster rolls, al dente in little italy for seafood/pasta, flour bakery for the 10 kinds of brioche/assorted baked goods, cafe mami for home style japanese food. If you know where you're going to be around I can try and make more specific recommendations.

Drink recs is probably left up to @ken p but I've heard good things about the appropriately named Drink. They don't have a menu, you just tell the bartender what you like.

General points of interest for me include SoWa on sundays which is like a giant farmers / flea market and a bunch of local food trucks show up as well, the Boston Pubic Library, the Museum of Fine Arts. If it's a nice day, I would actually recommend walking across the Mass Ave Bridge from back bay into Kendall square where MIT is. You can go to Flour Bakery and then see a few buildings designed by Frank Gehry that house the robotics dept at MIT.

Also just a note if you're going to watch the fireworks on Monday that they close the Mass Ave bridge at night so if you want to get across the river you have to take the trains. The fireworks are cool though, I think they get the Boston orchestra to come out and play as well.

Number 31 in Dublin I'm sure of (also highly recommended although it's been years since I stayed there) and I thought a boutique hotel I stayed at in chicago years ago had them but I can't find the name of it.

That is perfect @baltimoron, I really appreciate it!

Guys, Hasten mattresses are a Veblen good; there is no fucking difference in sleep quality between most mattresses quality levels. Luxury mattresses are a scam in the sense that a suit is a suit, sure if you care about the stitching and how good the fabric looks on your mattress pick some artisan mattress but it is a lot sillier than caring about those characteristics for a suit.
