Random fashion thoughts - Part II (A New Hope) - Page 680

Yeah, although I suspect if I knew the circumstances of the guys life I would probably let go entirely of the anger I have about the theft

Even though he threw away the master piece bag? Most egregious part.

Ironically the bag was the only thing with any value as the laptop and phone were locked and encrypted in such a way that they cannot be reset or used again, they're worthless silicon now

Probably traceable/track able if you really wanted to as well.

Uniqlo also needs to bring back those linen drawstring pants. My summer go-to.

I just want them to bring back their damn cargo pants.

That blows. You have receipts? Homeowner's or renter's insurance? If you have or can get receipts, you should be able to get something back (deductibles are pretty high, though). Gotta file a police report and everything.

Yeah, are laptops even worth anything now? I mean I guess if you have newer MBP or something, but you're run of the mill Windows PC with even basic encryption is probably worth maybe $100-200 on the used market?

On a semi-related note, I wonder if it's worth adding a rider onto my insurance for clothes. The standard limit for jawnz/watches/etc. doesn't go very far. I guess it would only be worth it for individual items worth say... $3k+?

Depends on how much it would add to your premium, but yeah I could see it maybe being worthwhile for multi-thousand dollar items. But for a whole wardrobe, nah. Way too much paperwork and (at least personally) on the vanishingly small side of the cost-benefit ratio.

Probably late on this, but World of Niche is the most amazing, most pretentious shopping experience ever. No IG or Twitter; bare bones website. Store is by appointment only and only one person is allowed in at a time. Basically veg tan sneakers by Ronnie Feig (which admittedly look pretty good), but the exclusive shopping experience obviously creates a lot of hype. NikeTalk user reports on his visit:

Quote:
Once I got in the sales rep (think his name is Bennington) took my coat, asked me to take off my shoes and gave me a pair of slippers to wear in store...oh and they asked that I leave my cell phone on a tray by the window as they do not allow pictures/video in the store.

Then I sat sipping my free bottle of water (of course I want the bottled water Sir) while this guy opens up the giant bronze globe in the middle of the store to reveal the 3 style offerings..a running inspired sneaker, a basketball inspired sneaker and a boot. Each come in 3 colors and limited to 50 pairs each.

I tried on the runner which reminded me of a sleeker, more lux version of the Puma x Kith RF698....lucky for me my giant hobbit feet were too wide for them cause they cost $300 + tax. The packaging, materials and design were all very good.

I asked the sales rep questions about the brand but he said he could not answer most of my questions such as brand history, ownership, designers etc. I personally think Ronnie from Kith has a hand in it (they are literally next door to the Kith women's store and across the street from Kith/Atrium).

Overall it was a cool experience and if I had $330 to waste (and a small foot) I might have bought the runners...the other 2 were not my style (basketball shoe reminded of Creative Recs and the Boot looked like every other Japanese boot I've seen)

Once I told homey I wasn't buying he could not get me out of there fast enough..lol

Do they let you take pics of the shoes after you buy them?

They look like 1998 Hogan shoes found at Century 21

has anyone made fun of the new steph curry shoes on here yet?

He missed peak normcore by a couple years

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ronnie Fieg has something to do with it. It seems just like his particular brand of dickheadyness.
