I have some great news. I've just been in touch with SoleGarb.

Though 74945 is not conventionally available in the E width, if we are able to garner 5 interests, the 6th (you), would be able to get the model in E width.

SoleGarb is confident of getting Bonafe to modify their existing last down to an E width.

FWIW, I have both the 74945 and the 946 last, I take the same size in both but feel that the fit around the toe box / heel / instep are similar, though the 946 seems slightly shorter. So I think this will work for you.

@ThunderMarch

This is excellent news, thank you so much! I would love to be the 6th in this case :fonz:

Yes, Bonafè have made the 804 last in E width for me before, although it is said not to be generally available in this width, they can do that.

I don't have a pair on the 74945 yet but I too would expect that it should fit me well.

Since Fall and Winter here in Germany usually are not too nice (at least to leather soles ;) ), I would want to opt for some kind of rubber soles as well. Topys would be a good compromise, and fine for me.

Thanks for confirming your continued interest.

In fact, on my count, we have 4 confirmed:

@wooksb

@stephenaf2003

@mavere

and me.

@CLTesquire is keen but considering.

I'll just wait up for one more, and we're good to go with 5 of us, plus you in E width.

This is good. So the vibram topy sole forms the majority now.

The cost will be:
Boot itself - $625 USD

Hatch grain - $50 USD upcharge
Shipping is free within the USA, but for other regions of the world, SoleGarb will let you know individually.
I am thinking of a Vibram topy sole (though I can also do without it) - $15 USD

Assuming it's 50% down, 50% later, count me in. Only issue is I don't own 74945 so need some sizing advice

This is great news! Means we're good to go and everyone is happy.
IIRC, I think we're about the same size. I wear the 74945, 946 and 363MOD in 8.5 and the 804 in 8.
The 74945 has a pretty roomy instep and toe box but isn't quite as long as the 804. I don't wear my boots too tight and 8.5 is a good fit, but I might go down to 8 for an oxford.
I'll be going with 8.5 for this mto.

Hmm, we are identical in EB sizing but I thought 8 would be the right size for 74945. I guess I'll follow your lead since I, too, prefer my boots (and oxfords for that matter) to fit on the looser side. For comparison, I wear 42 in Vass F and 8.5 in U/K. 8.5 in Carmina Rain/Uetam. 8.5 in CJ 348. 9 in GG06.

You're right, if I were to do a 74945 in an oxford (or derby), I'll take an 8 without a doubt. I prefer quite a snug fot for shoes.

I have numerous oxfords in the 804 and size 8 fits great. But I wear an 8.5 in 804 lasted boots. A little roomy, but it works, and I like it.

My sizing wise

F last 42

U last 42.5

Rain / Uetam / Forest / Inca 8.5

341 and 348 - 8.5.... But I have a feeling I can go down to 8 in 348

MH71 8.5

I broke out the blue bal boots on a rainy stormy day a little while back.  Just an excuse, really, but no apology, I do love boots.
