How much larger (if at all) is the 8.5UK 946E, vs the 9UK Simpson?   I'm a snug 8UK Simpson, could use a hair more forefoot width.

Or can you tell me any similarities?  I don't have any Bonafe lasts to compare.

Seriously beautiful chukkas.

thank you! i love them and the leather really wears well! I have worn them a good dozen plus times and there is no change in the leather creasing or anything!

That's really good to hear.

Have seen some other pictures of lama calf that creased quite a bit. Maybe because of how soft it is.

that is possible but also part of it will depend on how good the fit is. If you have a closer fit in the shoe, there should be some less creasing.

Of course there are many causes for excess creasing but people can look on the shoe care and leather threads if they want more info on that. haha.

Hello, hopefully the below information helps.  These are rough measurements.  Seems like length is pretty close.  The heel is just noticeably a tiny bit slimmer. The forefoot seems to measure out a bit slimmer, but I don't really notice a fit difference.

The 9UK simpson:

Tip to heel longest point - 31cm
Forefoot widest point - 11 cm
Heel widest point - 7 cm

the 8.5UK 946E:

Tip to heel longest point - 30cm
Forefoot widest point - 10.5 cm
Heel widest point - 6.7 cm

Great thanks.  What don't you like about the Simpson last fit?

I do like the Simpson last fit, I think the issue for me (on the boots I have listed on B&S) is the last narrowness with the shape of the 5 eyelet chukka.  It is too high and tight around the ankle for my comfort, if that makes sense.  I'm sure they would be fine for me after break in, but I wanted to sell them before I wore them since I probably would not wear them too much.

To bring it back to EB, I do prefer the fit of the 946E to the Simpson, though it is somewhat similar.  I like the shape of the forefoot better on the 946E.  I'm wearing my 3200 MOD tabacco suede shoes today, actually.  These are really great!

they have an interesting shade to them, but to me it appears to have more of a green tone to your pair than others of that color. Do you have any other angles or pictures in other lighting?

I think the color on these photos (attached) are more true.  The above photo may have something to do with the lighting and the contrast with the carpet.

cross-post from skoak and eb mto thread

hi,

Might anyone be interested in an EB Button Boot GMTO in this make-up? (procured this image from Gabriel's IG, I hope he does not mind-- taken during a tour of EB's factory.)

Shaft: (linen?) Canvas

Upper: Vitello YOKO - light, rich, burgundy calf

Last: 74945, 270 Handwelted

Sole: Single Leather, or if rubber, Millerighe sole

Rounded waist?

we need just one more participant, but more are welcome.

thank you all.

Any planned changes to their prices?

Single MTO's surcharge will increase from 15% to 20%; no price change for GMTOs, however, a GMTO run will require 4 participants instead of the usual 3.

Could I tempt you into taking up this GMTO? :-)

How do people determine their correct size in Enzo Bonafe?

The distribution seems to be very low and the associated risks and costs of returning a shoe that doesn't fit would seem to be unnecessarily stressful.

From a quick google I cannot see any trunk shows so is it just a matter of trial and error if you are in a country that does not stock EB (such as England)?
