The field is wide open. You can customize however way you want; you just gotta get a posse of 5 or so on your makeup. If you follow the link you can see which are gaining traction.

Thanks! Looks darker and less reddish in your pics than the sample. I'm thinking of getting a two tone boot in this leather and navy grain. So, @Leaves is there a navy grain leather, and will this leather go well with navy, @ThunderMarch ?

(And great looking boots!)

Well it certainly isn't a very bright and loud red you're right.
I've worn them with navy flannel trousers and I think they go fine.

Bonafe Hippo GMTO Update: Today I posted an official thread to discuss potential makeups using this leather here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/goodyearwelt/comments/413efm/enzo_bonafe_brown_hippopotamus_boot_gmto_step_2/

You can always ignore this if you’re happy with the “default” makeup:

- Base Model: 3824, modified to be a plain toe

- Leather: Chocolate brown

- Last: 363MOD

- Welt: 360 chain-stitched Norwegian with dark brown thread

- Sole: Dainite

- Edge color: Dark brown

- Eyelets: 5 eyelets / 4 speedhooks

If you’re looking for anything else, please join in on the discussion to lobby for your own preferences. This thread will be up for about a week before we vote on the most popular makeups to move forward to accept deposits. PM me there or here if you have any questions.

good idea to keep everyone on here posted, but I would suggest posting pictures when possible as well. It will make things easier for people on style forum who want to possibly be involved without needing to jump to other sites and search for pictures.

^Are you sure that pic shows a 360º  chained stitched Norvegese?. It seems to me more like a 270º 3 rows Goyser stitched (like Rozsnyai/Dinkelacker )

^ Some of us ordered a boot 360º  chained stitched Norvegese with 2 rows like showed above .  That is what I understand by EB´s 360´s  chained stiched Norvegese.

Great stuff that Hippo leather, indeed. Good luck, I wish I could join you.

To get a chained norvegese similar to the vass goyser pic, you'll need to ask lorenzo/bonafe to use a welt strip under the norvegese (I know bonafe can do that - I've seen at least one example of an MTO)

thanks for organuzung this!

Hey thanks for the clarification -- you are correct on the 270 vs 360 of course. Although the picture I post is Vass, I do believe EB can do the 3 rowed chain stitch (see below). I chose this pic mainly to illustrate the dark brown thread against the dark brown edging. I wish you could join us too!

Thanks for letting me know. I'll be sending the above pic to confirm that that's what we're after. Would happen to remember more about where you saw EB example you refer to? That would be the best way for me to get the message across, I think.
