I... uh...

We have two problems here.

With the academic calendar over, I prolly won't be wearing a suit. But second, I've been trying to stick to the rules and rein my game in to learn the basics. Not sure I'm ready for this kind of controlled anarchy yet.

Edit: Although, even as I write this, some dangerous inspiration is striking....

I think the best way to wear loafers with a suit is to go all out banker, and luckily that fits my job description. What I wore to work today:

^ not a fan of the tassels with a soot

I think a loafer like this is better. EG Picadilly

The key is having a long vamp

On the other hand, A stuby short vamp loafer like this is not going to work. I've seen people wear Sebago's like this with a worsted suit and it looks really bad

I'm with Murl and some others in my flat dislike for loafers. I'm attempting to maintain an open mind, in other discussions as well as in this poll, but I un(?)fortunately cannot join as I own no loafers.

The filtering question I always ask myself is whether the fit in question looks better with loafers, or with something else? Not just as good, since at that point it's about personal preference, but better. MF's fit, for example, would IMHO look better with oxfords or monks. Looking forward to seeing some examples that stretch my thinking.
