Academia, Democrats, and Thoughtcrime - Page 28

It's more like reactionary journalism at its finest.

Liberal and non-liberal universities across the country for decades have had special interest housing based upon people who have a background or interest in various cultural groups, like blacks, Asians, Jews, gays, French speakers, hippy artists, whatever. (The hippy artist house always had the best parties!) This is no different. In college, I knew plenty of people who weren't from whatever background, but lived in that culture house. Pretty normal, in fact.

The new housing thing at Cal State is not segregated. While I'm sure that the vast majority of people who express an interest in living there are black, it is open to people of all races who want to live in that type of environment.

Plenty of stuff to critique the BLM campus movement about. This is not one of those things.

There is no "His Majesty" at the moment, not even that one. There is, of course, a "Her Majesty".

I would go with the indefinite pronoun "one." As in "One is not amused." or "One did not turn in one's homework, did one?"

This mental perversion is taking place in most prestigious US univ. which means these places are already infested by self-appointed thought police. The driving force for this policing are liberal arts mental midgets and minorities exploiting their imagined, rehearsed victimhood.
This makes me worried about the next cycle in US history when society will receive all these products of higher learning in their political, cultural and business offices. There is a new generation of incredible morons that is coming to US labor market and they by virtue of their Ivy League degrees are going to set the new standards for how society operates. Makes me glad I am far away.

You heard it here, folks. The world is going to end because of people trying to be more polite.

Agreed most of this stuff is just silly kids clamoring for attention but the application of apocalyptic ramifications is far sillier.

Telling people that their mundane pleasantries and smalltalk are racially offensive and oppressive, and demanding that they conform to your hypersensitivity is "trying to be polite"?

Did you read that CBC link? Calling a biologically male person "him" is going to become a hate crime. From your framing you must be related to Carol Off.
