Week before Xmas; be there or be square!

Haha, there's a chance I will be there at that time visiting my folks. If so, we'll drink some rubbery pinot noir or burnt rubbery Rhone blend.

Piss off, you commie bastard. Virtually nothing you posted has to do with government action against a person speaking freely.

Yeah, numbnuts, I was actually responding to articles that attempt to link legal free speech with other forms not related directly to the state. You know, in an entire thread that's about the ersatz category of "thoughtcrimes" in academia.

No, dipshit, you thought you were making some big point about free speech even though it's something your shit country doesn't have.

Broseph, uptalking is not vocal fry. FWIW, I also find vocal fry annoying when it's over employed.

It's the same phenomena, stuff we associate with young women and dismiss but that is hardly limited to them and just a sign of the changing nature of pronunciation. In other words you're just ye olde curmudgeon if it bothers you, it is not a sign of decadence.

I don't think I've read anything interesting about vocal fry though, some opinion pieces. Uptalking has more material behind it or I've just not come upon the right stuff.
