John Lobb Shoes Found In Thirft Store..are They Valuable?

Hi-

About two years ago I purchased a pair of John Lobb shoes from an upper east side thrift store- I had no idea I what I was purchasing, just thought they were a very attractive pair of shoes. I am selling unworn things on ebay, and have just come to discover what John Lobb shoes are... This particular pair is a camel suede, and written on the inside is 9030 8 E and under that is 236 PIERSON. I am female, and thought i might wear them, but never did. They are in very good used condition. It says John Lobb Paris, made in England on both the inside and the bottom. Can anyone tell me if these are valuable and how much I might ask for them on ebay? Thank you!

Do they look like these? http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/4...pierson.md.jpg

You might be able to fetch quite a bit for them on ebay if they're in good condition.

I would post pics.....

Post pics of you wearing them when you put them up on E-bay!

In all seriousness, you need to post a pic of them up here, so condition can be determined. To do this, you need a pic of the general shoe, a pic of the soles, pic of the heels, and perhaps one of the interior (where the handwritting and label are).
Once that is done, many folks here can help you with value.

An alternative is to post them in the buying and selling forum here and avoid the cost and risk of e-bay.

They are fairly valuable. The fact that they're suede may reduce that a bit -- worn leather can often be viewed as having character, worn suede just looks ratty. But generally speaking, the ebay selling price for a pair of used Lobbs in good shape would me measured in the hundreds, as opposed to the tens, of dollars.

That 8E is likely the UK size, which would probably translate to a 7D or 7.5D in U.S. sizing.

What he said ^^^^^^

I'm in the habit of understating size estimates so as not to scare the ladies. I'm sure you know how it is.
But you're right, I subtracted when I should have added.

Yes the shoes are valuble, if they are in good to great condition.

John Lobb shoes are top shelf when it comes to shoes. Better then Gucci, Ferragamo, etc. They are so great that they have a royal warrant. Does that tell you anything? Oh, and yes you may want to post a photo.

Think of a Kiton suit, or a $3'500.00 bespoked suit. That's John Lobb, only in shoes. Also, I would go you their web site and get more info.

they aren't that valuable. they are suede and worn. possibly $200 on ebay. I doubt you can get $300. then again I guess that's a lot

I would think you stand to receive more than you paid for the shoes (just assuming because you bought it at a thrift shop), but you haven't come across a rare find.

This reminds me of the "Antiques Road Show" where people bring in their antiques to get them appraised on TV. Although I look forward to something appraised at a huge sum (the most I ever seen was some Chinese war helmet/headpiece that was valued at $250,000), it is always enjoyable, for some twisted reason, to see the dejection on the faces of the people, who of course are trying to hide it, when they are told that something is "only" $500 notwithstanding they bought it for 5 bucks.

So, Sidey, although something being "valuable" is a relative term, don't expect to cash in thousands on these shoes. A couple to a few hundred dollars, maybe. And, this may in fact be valuable to you if this amount is 25x than what you paid.

I think most people would consider shoes that sell for a couple hundred dollars used valuable.
